This way, you might have to watch the auction thread less closely in order to win slots. However, it is more difficult to figure out the current state of the auction with this method.

Do you think that this would be a good change, or not?

I would appreciate this change since I have on more than one occasion placed erroneous bids while being in a hurry (thanks a lot theymos for interpreting those bids in the best way possible) and missing slot many times because of not being able to watch the auction.

Yeah, that last one I though you intended 0.35 or something...

Personally, I like the bidding system how it has been and don't like the potential new change.  Even though the current system is a little tricky to follow, I feel it can be easily be understood by most people and would create the least confusion.  I think if you are serious about bidding, just refreshing the page a few times a day isn't a big deal.  It literally takes 5 seconds to see if there is a new bid whereas I think the new system would be more difficult and time consuming when there are new bids.

Like I said, I personally don't mind watching the thread.  Normally it takes awhile for people to get bumped down the list from highest to lowest bidders, I personally don't see it as a problem.  I even wrote a little perl script to text me when someone made a new post (which would automate the job of watching the thread for me), but after I got my first text in the middle of the night I turned that off, manually watching it is no big deal Smiley
