There is no reason to think that kslaughter won't pay for these spots.

Excuse my previous post. I had to read up on how this all works.

Theymos,  I bid 1 @ 8.75. If kslaughter doesn't pay, I echo the words of the concerns of the users and strongly request you reset this auction for fairness. If you can't/wont do that, then I bid 2 @ 6.75.

Thanks.

Reserved...

What are you reserving? This is kind of like entering and auction house and declaring that you're "reserving" while everyone is shouting out specific bids.

No, kslaughter has 7 slots at 8.25 Bitcoins (BTC) per slot.

Right.

If anyone thinks that kslaughter won't pay, you can bid a lower amount. If kslaughter doesn't pay, I will probably ask the remaining highest bidders if they're interested in the slots.

May I suggest a new bidding system to theymos:

I'm planning to create a similar automated system in the future.

@theymos I am ready to pay as soon as you pull the trigger.

Because if it's the former, then kslaughter is wasting money.

Can you elaborate?

Is this expense coming out of Active Mining or kslaughter himself? Because if it's the former, then kslaughter is wasting money.

the most cost effective way would be to buy 1 slot as each user will see all 10 slots over 100 times

Actually, I think the most effective way would be to reserve 3 – 4 slots as with 4 slots, the advertisement will be displayed to a user if they open only 2 posts, which means they're not here randomly, but 3 should be ok as well.

Reserving all slots is a waste of money in almost all situations. A user may find such advertizing too aggressive and suspicious.

May I suggest a new bidding system to theymos:

  • theymos posts e.g. 100 deposit Bitcoin addresses.
  • A user reserves the first unused deposit Bitcoin address and posts their refund Bitcoin address like so:
    Quote
    Deposit address: .
    Refund address: .
  • The user immediately transfers the amount they intend to bid to that deposit Bitcoin address.
  • The user posts their bids and outbids like so:
    Quote
Bid: slots at Bitcoins (BTC) per slot.
  • theymos examines their advertisement only once they have deposited the bidden amount.
  • The next user checks the Bitcoin blockchain to see if the bids are real by examining the Bitcoin blockchain.
  • When the auction ends, theymos just checks their wallet to see if the which the highest bids with correctly-deposited Bitcoins (BTC) are and immediately publishes the winning advertisements.

this is crazy your not even going to get  500,000 hits for 800 USD and most of those hits are Google indexing the site

Actually, it's 7 × ~800.00 United States dollars (USD) = ~5,600.00 United States dollars (USD).

yes 7 slots would get you 3,500,000 hits ( over 25,000 users of what 10% of them are sock puppets  ) all that for $5,600I cant see that paying off unless you scamming or selling a lot of expensive products

the most cost effective way would be to buy 1 slot as each user will see all 10 slots over 100 times

1 @ 8

I am canceling this bid as kslaughters' bids seem like bullshit and it seems to me like they will not actually pay.
