I just got $250 in BTC for a bug bounty. What should I do with it? Hold, or invest elsewhere?
I already bought 8 ETH a few weeks ago.

In need of advice. Don't really know how to get into crypo, but I definitely want to. Could somebody point me in the right direction?

Edit: Also, can somebody enlighten me as to what /r/BTC and /r/Bitcoin disagree on? I've looked at both sides, but I honestly still don't know what both sides are.

Find out good ico's and invest on it. It's the best option. If you are not investing on other thing HODL your remaining currencies.

Bitcoin and etherum are one of the best coins which you can hold this year, cause prices now are going up and in my opinion they will be doing so for some next weeks so hodl in your wallet and after that you could ask what to do but remember that the most important decision is only up on you.

My advice...if you aren't in use of money as at the time of this reply..you can pick up some good altcoins for investment and great profit...look for low cap coins below 10mill and hodl for long ...this should give you at least x50 of your money

A friend introduced me to the bounty program and since then I have earned quite a bit of money to cover my tuition and living expenses.
Bitcoin is a great thing...

But your account has been just created and it is literally your first message! How did you manage to earn something from bounties without even a Bitcointalk account? Or is it your alt account? Then you should know that cheating bounties with alts are forbidden.

My advice for you is to learn and acquire the knowledge and skills needed before committing your real cash into it. Meanwhile as you already have some crypto, I think you can hold it and let it grow, while you learn. Let your dream be to become a pro trader and trade your own money.

There is some advice given to beginners in crypto currency :
1. Be really prepared, where the most remarkable thing about crypto-currency is that there is a lot of information about them. Moreover, the
    investment world is also trying to simplify the situation, making bitcoin more accessible to traditional investors. The introduction of
    investment tools such as futures, will help people understand how the crypto currency works.
2. Be careful, where any Investment is risky, but in the case of bitcoin, this risk is slightly higher due to its volatility.
3. Effective diversification of investments, which as a rule, beginners first hear about bitcoin, but in this world there are about other crypto
    1500 currencies, and some of them grow at a price much faster than bitcoin.
4. Do not store tokens on the exchange, where In the crypto space, there are still many hackers and thefts, and it is important to be careful.
    Not difficult to destroy the lives of hackers. The main recipe is simple: use exchange only for exchange. After you purchase crypto
    currency, transfer money from the exchange to the wallet that you control only.
5. Prepare for the ups and downs, where Bitcoin is known for its instability - so many traditional investors come from it in horror. Even a
    strong interest rate cut does not mean that an irreversible disaster has occurred, but it's hard to keep thinking logically when you enter
    the red zone quickly.

First advice it's check ways to earn cryptocurrency. It's trading or bounty/airdrop programms. In bounty you can participate in different campaigns and get tokens which you can exchange to btc/eth/fiat.

Hi there,

Our general advice would be the following:
- Only invest what you can afford to lose;
- Pay close attention to the BTC (the price movement of the BTC affects the price movement of the altcoins);
- Diversify your crypto investments;
- Take home some of your profits to make them safe;
- ALWAYS Do your own research;
- Try to learn from your mistakes;
- Set stop losses for short-term trading;
- Always double-check the ticker (many of us remember when people bought Bitconnect Coins when they thought they bought Bitcoin Cash)
- Don't try to time the market; and
- HODL.

You can read more about each advice here: https://www.cryptowisser.com/getting-started-with-crypto/

Good luck!

All the best,

What to do with BTC? I would say print out a paper wallet, load the wallet with the BTC and stash somewhere for long term HODL

  It might not be worth much now but once Bitcoin increases in price your $250 will be worth a lot more.

  For example...if you had the $250 converted to BTC at todays price it will be 0.027777BTC

  Once BTC reaches the 100,000 dollar mark that same amount of BTC will be worth $2,777 dollars

  Now imagine what that would be worth when Bitcoin hits $1,000,000.

  Yep that same $250 will then be worth $27,700.

 So my advice is to hold. Goodluck on your decision!

That depends on your risk tolerance. Alts are better return but higher risk. Usually, the younger you are, the more risk you can take. If you lose everything, that's no big deal. You will earn more during your life. So decide yourself. But I think you should keep at least a half in BTC and ETH.

r/BTC is bitcoin community and r/bitcoin is bitcoin cash (bitcoin fork) community. Bitcoin cash tries to pass itself off as a "true bitcoin". The way "Satoshi wanted it to be". The thing is nobody knows what Satoshi would like to do. Now people sign petition against Roger Ver, a well known Bitcoin Cash prominent for constantly saying that bitcoin cash is real bitcoin. The site of bitcoin cash is bitcoin.com. True bitcoin site is bitcoin.org. I don't have anything against bitcoin cash except that they fool people into believing that it's true bitcoin. That's not fair at all. No, it's not real bitcoin. Don't fall for it. If bitcoin cash is worth it, then why hide behind bitcoin brand name?

Personally I would invest in some promising altcoin, it’s more a gambler perspective. If you wanna sleep relaxed then it might be good to keep your btc, otherwise if you are looking for some consistent ROI invest in Alts with strong fundamentals such as ICX. That said, it’s a matter of risk management, the more you risk the more you can lose as well as gain.

Good luck!

I, too, would prefer to choose promising altcoyins, since they have a growth potential higher

My advice for every beginner: DOnt start in to cryptos Grin You ask me why? Its simple! There are two ways how you will end. The first one, you will invest in some cryptocurrency, send it to your wallet, forget it and you will look at the value in some years again. Thats very rare. The second way is: You buy your first cryptocurrencies, and you look all ten minutes to the charts and you will waiting the whole time that the coins will go to the moon. This will not happen, and you will see other currencies who will rise faster. You will spend more money, and more time in cryptocurrencies, but you will make just less profit.
