~2 yrs later:

I'm seeing great still, no issues seeing at night. That went away about 6 months after. My only annoyance is that I still have that knee-jerk reaction where I want to push up my glasses on my nose. That only occurs in the morning when my eyes are adjusting to being me being awake, and before coffee

12 days after the surgery and I see great! My near-vision blurriness has almost gone away, at night it is noticeable when looking at my phone. I asked my doctor about the bladless prior to surgery and he said that the difference is that it is more expensive and that turned away many patients. He didn't offer it anymore because of the lack of interest. I also looked up on youtube how the laser procedure works, it is actually worse IMO. Basically the laser vaporizes a partial circle of cornea and makes an air bubble, which the doctor then has to "tear" open to expose the cornea. I though that was gross so I was happy to go with the can-opener.

I read somewhere there are new variants of this method, where the laser does all the work, including the initial cut. They don't have to make this "flap" that was previously needed to expose the eye which shortens the whole procedure.

PRK has an annoying recovery, but the results are usually the same. It depends on a verity a factors whether you can have lasik or prk or any laser eye surgery.

I used to be near-sighted and after surgery I am far-sighted... hopefully that is temporary as my corneas heal.

I got this surgery 3 months ago and i couldn't be happier Cheesy

I'm seeing much better now without glasses than before with them. Just a few advices:
- Go eject only if you're above 30 and haven't changed the correction value of your glasses in at least one year, otherwise you may need prescription glasses again very soon.
- If the doctor says "don't blink" while on surgery then don't! Bad things can happen if you don't follow his instructions.
- Follow the after-surgery instructions and don't worry if you don't see perfectly or if you see rings the first few weeks or up to 3 months. Things get better after the eyes fully recover

One funny thing that drove me paranoid were the doctor and his staff, all of them were still wearing glasses and they evaded my questions about it

Thank you everyone, there are certainly pros and cons of having the procedure. If I do end up getting it done, I want to go bladeless, because some of the videos I've seen look painful with that can-opener thing they use to cut the cornea flap. Shocked

Hard choice to make. I've known people that have done LASIK and are happy with it, but I'd be cautious to do it myself. Not to mention the thought of the actual procedure is kinda frightening. I hadn't heard about possibly having worse night vision before, that is interesting.

I agree with you. It's completely unnatural. Surgery is a luxury of the 21st century. Think of al the times humans had without surgery - thy functioned just fine. In the wilderness, humans with bad eyes tend to die. Nature is telling you that you're not fit. Anyways, if you take off your glasses and don't get this surgery, you'll feel more natural and eventually your brains may adjust and compensate for your shitty eyes.

Since he is looking to get the surgery, its likely that it is a problem of accommodation. In anycase doctor will check and proceed.

I never bothered, I am doing with glasses just fine. If Bitcoin makes me rich I will go for the daily disposable lenses.
