I'm not having troubles with BFL hardware - it's been working perfectly fine for 2+ months. But as a customer who went through neverending delays, least I can tell is to be very cautious. I, for one, would seriously think before preordering anything from them. Sure one can guess that BFL has their production process ironed out at this point, so maybe they are finally able to keep on their promises and to deliver on time, but my previous experience was just too frustrating to jump into that boat again.

do not do it, if you are lucky you may the the Monarch in 2015.
i purchased a jalapeno in may, it is December and still do not have it.
and forget about refunds with BFL there is no such thing, customer services does not exist.

I did get an email a few weeks ago that they were shipping instantly, but of course it is not true, if they were they would have shipped my obsolete jalapeno.

Why would you ever by anything from butterflylabs after the thousands of people complaining about their company and their shitty customer support?

Seems like everyone hates them.
I guess the ones that buy their products don't consider it necessary to post here.

It appears I'll be joining in with the common sentiment here as I will never purchase from BFL again (preorder or product in hand). Aside from the obvious reasons (consistent massive delays, overpriced inefficient hardware, and an unprofessional approach to PR), I'm not impressed with their overall customer service or the reliability of their products.

Currently operating 6 Singles (60GH/s models), I've had 3 of the provided power bricks die and 1 Single was DOA; 2 PSUs shorted out with a pop and puff of smoke, the other just sort of stopped working one day. The DOA Single and 1 PSU was shipped back for replacement (at my expense...apparently they don't cover that) and nearly two weeks go by before I have a working replacement. The other bricks haven't been replaced, and they probably won't be -- what's the point since they're cheaply made anyway? Might as well grab a decent $200 PSU off Newegg and save myself the headaches later on.

Anyway, there's competition in the marketplace now. We can finally let BFL die off as KnC, BitFury, and others take the reins.

I'm really wondering if I want to pre-order the 600ghs Monarch from BTF or not.
Please share your opinion, it might help me make up my mind Smiley

BFL pre-order? You will never know when (or if) you will receive the hardware.

Buy it, but not directly from BFL. Wait until some people decided to sell theirs...

I too have placed multiple orders with them.  Received my first unit (cost 208+ BTC) only to have it die after 7 days of mining - was useless for over 2 weeks costing an additional 14BTC of lost income due to nobody answering emails, PMs or responding on their own forums to my begging.  On the second order I filed a chargeback and filed complaints with the State AG, DA & FTC.

Just another BFL success story...

Wrong I have bought their product and that's exactly why I hate them.

On the contrary - I bought their products and that entices me to share my experience to warn others.

...

saw one 25GH/s go for 1800€ (2444$) on Ebay. you could just pass the curse onto someone else and buy bitcoins. shit, they might even pay you in bitcoins!
That is what I did immediately after I received that super-late noisy power-hungry junk from BFL. At least I got my money back despite the company not being solid enough to obey the law and refund me.

even if BFL had a lot of problems they have delivered 2 generations of products, that has to count for something right?

Yes, BFL will deliver, as usual, extremely late. That's what you can count on.

I can speak from personal experience BFL has a completely terrible customer service (basically none) and they deliver MUCH later than promised. (Several months), which means that by the time you eventually get your product, it will be hardly making enough bitcoins to cover the initial investment.

In other words, don't buy anything from BFL.

I ordered a BFL 25GH/s in April and they said it would take about 2 months to deliver, they delivered it about a week ago. It now makes 0,02bc a day, so it will take roughly 2 months at this difficulty to pay for itself, however the difficulty will likely increase so it may not ever pay itself back and will be even less likely to make profit.

Also by the time they deliver the $/gh ratio and the kW/gh ratio are both pretty terrible.

There's really people still buying these things?  Well at least when you buy it from me you'll get the guarantee it'll be shipped instantly. I'll even personally deliver it if it's anywhere in the Netherlands.

I probably don't have to say this but only if you want to lose your money and be disappointed. I would advise you to buy hardware in person from someone who actually has it in front of you, you can test it, and start hashing the same day. Make sure you calculate if you can make your money back (it may not be accurate) but if it doesn't look like youll make the money back Id tell you instead to put the money into BTC itself and you'll make a profit instead in the rise of price.
