Mostly Airdrops use for the growing community. And Bounty campaigns use for the find Investors and promote the ICO. So both of them are important for the future of the project.
Yes, agree with you. most of the airdrops are useless. I have more than 100 of airdrops without any market values. But plenty of airdrops has good demand. Once I got Polymath airdrop worth $300. They were only for the registering and send KYC. that kind airdrops are worth than others. Best worth bounty I got from the Effect .ai project. 10 weeks of period worth $500 at the time I received.
Using airdrop you can draw attention to the project from a large number of people. Is it profitable for people to participate in airdrop? Based on my experience - no. But for the project it's a great option for advertising. 
airdrop and bounties are useful .In airdrop its easy to get coins free.but bounties are more useful than airdrop reasons been that most airdrops now are scam and most persons tend to want to participate because its less stressful but bounties could be sometimes be stressful but most rewards nicely.
I don't think that the bounties and airdrops make an ICO great or not, they are just ways of promoting a project and after all the project itself, the idea, is the one that matters the most.
bounties was really useful for me personally, but airdrops I haven't join into it yet actually. Between bounty and airdrop, bounty has the bigger chance for a successful coin. It is well promoted by signature campaign participants where investors can saw it and easily look for its ANN thread and whitepaper.
Yes I already participated in bounty that has a high profit to earn. Its end keep extending amd some started to doubt into it. When it got finished, the distribution took so long but when we already got in our wallet the payment, all times spend in bounty are worth it.

For me, depending on the project you can know if that is a legit or a shit coins. If you do research and studies about that project you can know if it is a good one and then you can participate in it. It is good to put some effort on the project you really know and have confidence that you can say that it is a good project because of the research and studies you made just to make sure it is a good one.
These two ways are necessary to expand the number of investors and attract them to join in. The bounty plan can further stimulate people's publicity.
Exactly, bounties and airdrops are really useful but you have to be keen on choosing bounties and airdrops because they have a lots of scam ICO's and few airdrops programs are really honest to paid their participants for helping and in promoting the ICO's achieve successfully.

In my own opinion Airdrop payout is too small to be useful and you cant even trade it on exchange co'z it won't cover fees unless you Hold it through years and hoping that the platform that doing Airdrop still survive the competitive environment of Crypto-currency World! in order to make the airdrop useful it should not less than $50 dollars worth of airdrop coins or tokens. that's according to my own opinion.
Airdrops and bounties are useful for sure. For bounty hunters it is possobility to earn some tokens telling about project to others, for ICO projects its opportunity to let other know about them by spending not real cash but only their own tokens

As for airdrops, I can't really speak much on their usefulness. But as for bounties, yes. They are very rewarding although time consuming too.
Yes I think that they are really useful. I have heard and seen a lot of persons that have gained from it and made a lot of earnings from it especially those who couldn't invest or didn't have funds to invest, and needed a way to earn, also on the other side, it is a good way to promote new ICOs and create awareness.
