I'll gamble on this.  Please reserve six shares for me.  I'll send out the BTC when I get back to my wallet (about five hours from when I'm posting this).

Waldo, this is an interesting update but do you think this clearly communicates what we should expect? Do you take from this update that we will have hashing power equal to the power of our Neptunes no later than March 1st, from KnCMiners data centre in Sweden? If so, what do you expect the hosting fees to be? Would like to hear how you interpret this information or if you are not sure what to expect?

It sounds like good news but I'm not sure if it will pan out that way.

So basically they are giving the option to not ship the Neptunes, but offer waldohoover a hashing power worth the amount of Neptunes he currently "owns"?

I would like to reserve that 1 share for Neptune # 1.

Majority of feedback on here, reddit and emails seem to be OK with just waiting- so I'll leave it be for now.

Sidenote- 1 share opened up in Neptune #1 if anyone would like it please reserve it here before sending a payment- first to pay (after claiming the share) takes it. ฿.33 for the share.

Hi, I have 3 shares. It pains me to say that I don't think we have a chance of getting anything close to an ROI on the Neptunes now. The CoinTerra Terraminer IV is shipping now, difficulty is going to skyrocket and KnCMiner are not offering any hint of a delivery date. I really doubt if any Neptunes will be shipped in Q1 at all. By the time they start shipping the first batch, I think we'll be lucky if a Neptune mines a handful of Bitcoins in its lifetime.

My opinion is that we should go with option 1 - Refund.

If there is one thing I have learned from trading it's that you should ride your good investments long and hard and cut the bad ones off quick. We had every reason to back KnCMiner over the competition but it looks doubtful that they will ship anything in Q1 and they are not offering any assurances to the contrary. please correct me if i'm wrong on that.

Can you transfer one of my shares to Neptune #1?

Everyone want that.
Is not a good solution.

To all Neptune shareholders (Batch 1 and Batch 2):

...

Again, I'm not saying we will go this route but I wanted to propose all options.

1. We continue to wait and hope for the best

2. We go the refund route

Please, everyone who has a share(s) voice your opinion, thanks!

1 -- but revisit in 10 days

Well personally I'd like to take #2... just cos I'm getting into altcoin mining and would prefer to just concentrate on that.

Hmm.. Decisions decisions.

Anyone have a crystal ball know how much hash power will hit the network once KnC delivers the Neptunes / to see the difficulty in late march / mid april?

My crystall ball says. Shi* will hit the fan before the TH/s units ship out. Network hashing will jump 10 fold before that. KnC wont take refunds on any newer orders for good reason. Everybody is scared now. Hashing power goes up up up.

Neptune batch one 1200 units at 3TH/s is 3600 TH/s to network
Before Neptune or any TH/s units ships Bitmain will ship 1xxxx units of Antminers worth +3000 TH/s that will be hashing 6-8 difficulty hops before bigger units. 10000$ is 1.2TH/s Antminers delivered and hashing in few days. Eaven shitty Avalon 55nm clones will ship xxx TH/s. Most of the Antminers and Avalon clones are going mainland China market.

Antminer 10k$ 1.2TH/s now, hashing in less than a week.
Pre-order from KnC @10k$ 3TH/s around 2-3 monts and 6-10 difficulty hops later.

Power drain is another story. Most miners wont care about that now.

 Shocked

Bitmain started Antminers with 4.5BTC hardware and making of that simple unit is 200$ work and parts. Chinese make iPhones for 400$ /sarcasm
Expect new price cut after difficulty hop or two. Antminer will be 1BTC

Market price for batch 1 Neptune should be higher than 10k... KnC is selling now second batch for this price and i remember them selling 1st batch for 13k usd. Maybe we can try ebay first.

Although i do not own any shares of the Neptune, bobsag3 might be able to host this for you for a pretty decent monthly fee.  Cheaper power than you hosting in your datacenter.

Yes, thats right, i agree,  that might be better solution..
