in my personal opinion, it's quite risky if you choose the top 30 altcoins on the market, I don't really like high risk so if I have to choose investment options with altcoin, then I'd better choose the top 10 list on the crypto market.
some altcoins have recovered and even the increase can be up to 300%, ETC, DASH, BSV have PUMP, others seem to be still waiting their turn, hopefully the dominance of Bitcoin will decrease deeper
Well this is just an old topic because altcoins is currently heading to the moon, the bitcoin trend is really helping the altcoins out of their Graves, you can see so many dead projects are beginning to breath again and we might just be in for another ATH of some altcoins, it's moon season, it's altcoins season, bitcoin at the wheel.
I know that people are very excited about what is happening in the market of cryptocurrencies especially because after a very long time altcoins finally show some signs of growth, and that is great don't get me wrong but I'm still worried that this is a bull trap.If you take the time to check several technical indicators it seems that the market is clearly overbought and that the current positive tendency cannot continue for long and when that happens we'll have to see what the price does, if the price goes down just a little bit then that is a pattern that indicates a continuation but if it goes down abruptly then it shows that it was a bull trap.
The current altcoin market is slightly increasing, due to the rise of Bitcoin in recent times. In 2020 I believe we will see a new altcoin season when Bitcoin achieves its ATH, in addition investing in top altcoins is a safe option. But the selection of altcoins in the top 30 is not really reasonable, I see some useless altcoins are still in this top and so be careful with them.
Today the situation looks very positive, but nevertheless in 2020, we can expect a lot of things. there is a chance that Bitcoin will reach ATH and all altcoins will bring big profits, but it can also be that after the bitcoin halving, the price will go down and all the altcoins will go down behind BTC. Now we have to be very careful and watch 
There's time for every market when Altcoins season comes it will increase in price same way Btc has been increasing. Now look the market barely a month since your post was made, there has been an increase in the Altcoins market.
The Altcoin markets has not been steadily increasing, there might be some price increase but not that high enough to get profitable gains, and then it would fall down double or triple of what is had increased so basically altcoins is not the best options for invesments exept those that are establsih. The sudden pump of bitcoin is quite affecting some altcoins in the markets. When it comes to the investment I agree with you because I just also stick my investment in top altcoin like in Ethereum, Ripple, and Binance coin. I don't have any care on useless altcoins and I rather put all my money in top altcoin than investing in those kinds of altcoins. Even bitcoin does not hit its all-time high price on the market there's still have a chance to have altcoins seasons. As far as I remember, there is a week in 2019 where all altcoins experience huge pump and bitcoin still remains on its price so that's why I can say there is always room or way to have altcoin season. 
The top coins has always been my best choice because they are mainly profitable than the coins that are in the lower position. The smaller altcoins are mostly disappointment

There are times I would invest in smaller altcoins and when the market is going up with the top altcoins, these small altcoins will just keep disappointing and losing their value which is really annoying and they can be easily manipulated by anyone which is another thing I don’t like, because after such manipulation they tend to become shit coins.

Don't dwell with the wrong one unless you will mess up. Altcoins are many but only few works for traders. A lot of alt are useless. They are made only to display in blockchain lol. But kidding aside, most of altcoin are going down because no supporters and no product at all. We need development and no hyped. And most of serious projects have always assure to get the best for the hodlers. . Altcoin is not increasing for so many days. New money is not coming in market.So Always invest in good Top 30 Altcoins for being Safe.
I think the new coins also have a big chance, but you have to be smart in choosing those coins. If the top 30 coins, I think the price is controlled. Look at the daily charts, everything is almost the same. I used to think the same as you, it turns out when I learn more, and try to invest in new coins, the profits are far greater than the old coins.

Over time, I have come to understand that when we see such bleeding, it is only but an opportunity for investment, at this time, you seize the opportunity to pick those Potential coins you have always wished to have at low price value because those top coins in CMC will surely rise back.
Yeah, it's always an opportunity if the market is bleeding. And those people that doesn't see it as an opportunity will miss that very moment because they are looking at the current move but not the reason and purpose of its bleed. While you see the opportunity with altcoins, you must not also miss the chance to buy bitcoin if it bleeds.
The danger of a steady fall has abstained. I think like this. We haven't had an easy process. There were very extreme value losses. New investors are no longer afraid. How will this change. I need a new story.
I didn't completely understand the meaning but I will do my best for answering the question. The new investors don't see an opportunity in the crypto markets due to the risks and lack of guarantee in the volatile, unregulated crypto market. The HYPE is over, there is no fuel to attract the investors with lucrative promises.
Your advice is so traditional. It is okay to invest in established and reputed coins, which means securing your investment. But for me, I follow there is no gain when there is no risk. Risks provide more opportunities and profits. So in the case of cryptocurrency, I want to suggest that you take some level of risks to get profits.

Not days, it's been years that we face the bear market, but this year I guess the bear market is over because the market is showing a good sign that the prices of the coins are increasing, and I agree better to invest in the top coins.
I used to think it would make sense to invest in the top 10 coins in the market. But such an effect no longer exists. The price of Bitcoin is very harshly suppressing the prices of all projects. Bitcoin investment can always be the most robust choice.
I still use the same strategy, if you can wait and hold, I think that strategy suits for you. Never think that the market will not bounce back again, just look at BSV for example, its hype just help it create a new ATH.
if this could happen in bitcoin fork, for sure its possible with bitcoin and other legit altcoins.

It is normal for some altcoins to have dull market especially in times when most people prefer to sell their crypto because it is the occasion when people are being expensive. Right now in 2020, many prices are recovering and hopefully it will continue to do so. But if you do prefer to only invest on top cryptocurrencies, then you are welcome to do it for your safety. Though there are good news projects that always pop out and can ride up the market ladder.
