Joining here in a signature campaign was a process. Means there
is a levelling scheme. Though joining in an altcoin campaign is
a good thing also, but be selective on which alt campaign would
you being participate. In my experience in an alt campaign its
profitable also, you can get information that there project is a
good and has future in the long run.

In my mind, signature campaign is an easy way to get started and earn some coins, but most campaigns are only open to high ranked users. some campaigns however, do accept newbies, like me. and i have noticed that most of those campaigns are about a new altcoin, and pays in that certain type of altcoin, which requires me to get a wallet of theirs. Any thoughts on whether its a good idea to participate in those campaigns or potential riskes?

As newbie your only choose is altcoins, because majority of altcoins also include newbies.
and about being profitable,we cannot tell if the coin will hit big in the market or not
Just pick the best coin that you think worth your time and effort.

In my assessment any altcoins can be profitable as long as it is potential and legit. Just all you need to do is be a risk taker in this industry of bitcoin world. And exert effort without double mind.

Why the hell not? bring it on guys and gals next stop is "Sigoin", not to mention of course the fact that people try to shove their alt coins to pay for campaigns and make others to download and run their wallets I hardly doubt it could succeed.

But one thing came to my mind is to implement a rule where anyone trying to run a signature campaign should go through a series of stages like filling applications outside of forum and creating an automated on time payments and if they don't accept them then no campaign what so ever allowed, then there will be a specific and proper channel for those who want to run and those want to participate and helps with fighting the spam and more accessible for everyone.

It will be good to implement your ideas, but this is a free market and some impatient people we still need to rely on trust

The risk is if you advertise a scamcoin then your name is ruined and those that matter will not trust you.

So you decide if the pocket change is worth it.

FYI, alot of people will put you right on ignore if you are shilling scams.
I was not aware that campaigning can harm my trust and reputation. Thanks for the info!
It would really harm  your account  if  you  are  promoting a scam coin that's why  its better to be vigilant  on  altcoin campaign  that   you are  joining , if  you saw that  there are  already  bad accusations  on the coin  then  its better to leave   rather than staying  up  on the campaign  because there are  lots of DT's around  which  will give  you  negative trust for sure.

We need to careful for those campaign because some are scam. You don't if they paying and give you a reason why they did not pay you. That is the strategy of the campaign so be careful every time you make a move. That's all.

Most of us newbies are not allowed to join any kinds of campaign so while waiting for our account to level up.
Lets just use that time to get familiar in this forum and improve our post quality.

I'm afraid that even if its an altcoin signature campaign, Most of the participants are at least junior member and a junior members pay rate is pretty low.

Participating in altcoin signature campaign is quite risky because some of them don't pay out, or the coin can turn out a failure or even a scam.

The good thing about this is if the coin turned out to be good then you will certainly get profits from it that you can exchange for btc. And if you're a trader, you can use the coins you earned in trading.

If you're still planning to join an altcoin signature campaign, you better do some research about the coin first, But it is recommendable to just join a bitcoin signature campaign cause many campaign has already proven paying plus bitcoins price is volatile and it is the most stable cryptocurrency

I am also worried about viruses that comes with the wallet of that currency downloaded on my laptop or phone. After browsing in the altcoin discussion session I noticed people are worried about securities mining altcoins, just wondering if the same risks are involved if I just download a wallet.

You should be ok if you download the wallet binary from the official website. The safest is to download the source and compile it yourself.
However this can be a challenge unless you are using OSX or Linux. Don't ever click a download link unless it is from the original post of the ANN here on BCT or from the website listed on the original ANN.
There are spoof sites and Github accounts where the perp has changed one letter of the link (Caps L for l or 1 for l etc) - don't download or build any binaries from these sites.

Back to topic - it's worth doing ICO sig campaigns for members - as mentioned earlier - do research or you may waste your time. INCENT is currently running and Chronobank/TIME is upcoming. These should be worth something on sig campaigns. Many BTC campaigns bar negative trust so for seniors and heros with negative trust these ICO campaigns can be a good alternative if one picks well!  Cheesy

Signature campaign usually 100% free, all you will doing is put some code in your signature then collecting free coins. If the coins is worthless then forget about it. So where/what is the risk?

Yes  its actually 100% free  on  joining those altcoin campaigns  but the  risk  involve  is  not  on  money  but  on the  effort  and time   you  putted  on a  particular  campaign. If they dont  pay then  your efforts are  useless , especially to  altcoin  campaigns  which last for   months , those  time are just on waste and its better to put  up  into  different things and thats the  risk  involve. Thats  why we should  be  observant to a  particular   coin if its  a good  or a  bad  one  but its not easy as  it sounds.

only do it under the following conditions:

1) if you could get paid with that altcoin but based on its bitcoin value. for example if you are supposed to get paid 0.01BTC per week you get paid that much in that altcoin.

2) only if you can receive it in an exchange wallet and dump it as fast as you received it. in any other case you would be taking unnecessary risks.

* although there is an exception that if you by any chance liked that particular altcoin and wanted to keep it!
