This thread is useful.  I am newbie in trading too and I just pick some tips from this topic.  As of now I am holding 4 coins and I am thinking on waves, neo and civic as mentioned number of times on this thread.

Good job, Ark is the god of this wild altcoins. You're safe if chose Ark with much profits.
So funny this is the first time I am going to be coming across this asset on this thread and even on bittrex.
It is a good coin, and looking at the pattern on the charts, it has about the same trend and pattern as Trig with short and quick profit in a short while. Nice one guys! At least I have another one to add to my portfolio now.

yes definitely keep some NEO!!   I got in at $6 and haven't looked back Smiley

But NEO is too expensive right now. That's why i'm looking at those coins since they are 0.50 ~ 7$ and i think they can double value.
Take your time man, don't rush. It is always good to allow a bullish trend to settle down a bit and buy at the right spot than rushing in fast. There will still be a correction on NEO and I am already seeing that.

Once it dips a little under support, you can buy bit by bit and gradually see how it goes with the assumption that you are going to be holding for long. However, NEO is undervalued right now as there is still a lot of prospect for it, so anywhere you buy will still pay off at the longer run.

The biggest coins are less risky, but may offer less profit than smaller coins. So for a long term secure investment, choose the big names like BTC and ETH. The Top 10 below those two are already more risky, but may also offer somewhat higher gains, eg. LTC, XRP (don't like that one), DASH.

Basically, the more risk you take, the higher the potential returns can be. But risk means you are also more likely to lose, while with a secure coin you will most likely not lose, but also not gain as much as with some other coin.

And be sure to distinguish between long term INVESTMENT and short-term trading. It's usually recommended to keep 70% of your coins no matter what (investment) and trade only with the rest.

your protfolio is very good but all these coins have already high market cap so it won't get you much profit try using 10% for low market cap coins

My top 5 picks would probably be: IOTA, Lisk, Walton, Tokes and Loopring. You could also get some Tezos but they are IOU trading at the moment on HitBTC.

I have EDG, Lisk and CVC from your list. WIth Lisk and EDG I have doubled my money for now. Both of them seems stable for me, especially Lisk.

Look for the token that has hood reputation like looking for sone information about it ICO's are very risky cause they can turn to scam out any moment when they dont gather enough enough funds for their new token or there is not enough investor and haven't meet their softcap. Altcoins that is looking good for me is ETH,BCC, WAVES.
The best safe haven to invest all your monry if your looking for an long term une is BTC.

For few months investment, I recommend looking at reputable tokens like TRST and TIME, they will release new products soon, moreover, ICONOMI has a working product, and they are improving it, it is great choice too.

My opinion is as follows:

Bitcoin
Ethereum
Litecoin
Monero
Waves

You can add more if you wish, but these should be fine for start.
Good luck

BTC is a must have in portfolio. In additional, I suggest NEO, ETH and LTC for long  term (at least 1 to 2 years) investment.

I think Neo is still cheap - especially if you look at the highs it recently hit. If the 'Chinese Ethereum' goes on a run like regular Ethereum, you could be looking at quite sizeable gains. I wouldn't be surprised if this one doubles or triples soon.

I wouldn't shy away from it just because it's of a higher value than the others that you're considering.

agree, I think NEO is actually cheap. I bought some more at $20 last week for my younger brother too.  Would not be surprised to see this trading in triple digits early next year.

Ark is suffering from massive price manipulation right now from a few whales since it is only listed on Bittrex right now.  You can probably get in really cheap right now but be prepared for a ride.  Until it gets listed on other exchanges I would be careful.  Others I would grab are XMR, WAVES and NEO.

Allocate your resources as follow:
50% -Bitcoin
20%-Ethereum
20% LTC,XMR,OMISEGO
10% ICO

For the ICO. Look for valuable one with already working product or software. Spectre token fit this description.
