For  a cryptocoin to take over the dollar, either the cryptocoin has to adapt to the government or the government has to adapt to the cryptocoin. They cannot coexist. One of them has to yield to the other.

There's no way for that. Maybe if you mentioned other small world currencies I'd say that's possible for Bitcoin, but for altcoins, it's impossible.
Only if they produce their own centralized coins and burn paper money that could happen.
Why ask if altcoin will replace the dollar? I think Bitcoin is closer, but as a national currency its important for gov to gain controll of transactions. Bank of russia are workink to develop crypto rubel

Altcoin will not replace Dollar at least for the next 10 years. USD is not the greatest currency in the world, but most people know how to deal with it.

Just think it over — will elderly people and simple folk from villages understand how to work with crypto?  Shocked

Dollar is the largest currency in the world today. but not impossible Altcoin replace the dollar as the currency largest in the world for future.
In your opinion, will it be this is happen? And what's the reason this is happen?
But i'm not believing about the altcoin will replace the dollar but about the tokenization of everything seems to be real in the future. Even bitcoin can't replace the dollar but the dollar just paper with manipulation.

Spot on this answer. That's the real upcoming change of the paradigm, the tokenization of everything. And this would eventually not just substiture the dollar, but make it less relevant, or one day perhaps even completely irrelevant.

I think that altcoins won't be able to replace the dollar. This is nonsense. It is more likely that bitcoin will replace the dollar.

If not bitcoin then altcoin. Lol, what is wrong with these people thinking that altcoin or most of the times bitcoin will replace the dollar because dollar is strong enough to stand strong for the possible threats for its existence and i don't see any chance for either bitcoin and altcoin to replace dollar. We should just accept that fact.

If you look at how fast cryptocurrency has gained popularity this can certainly happen, but not specifically an Altcoin in our opinion. A lot of research and developments are currently underway to make cryptocurrency mainstream. You can already begin to see the implementation of Crypto Debit Cards in the market.

I think altcoin or even bitcoin will replace dollar in the future it is because the supply of these crypto currency will not be enough to replace the market of dollars besides since it is digital I don't think every one can adopt to the technology but I think in the future bitcoin will play a big part in the economy of many countries I can see this will be consider a legal tender bit not good enough to replace dollars.

for me It wont happen that is because that the bitcoin at altcoin that will stay still on the cryptocyrency and also not all country will not truly accept it , while our dollar is still a paper currency yet this is acceptable to all countries but we should not lose hope maybe in the future they will create altcoin that every country accept or the people accept the altcoin and bitcoin

If it were supposed to replace a government backed fiat then the altcoin would have to be government backed as well. There might be some special cases (like with hyperinflation) that this can happen organically, but probably not many places.

The world is changing, technology is changing, we are moving into a new era where life is not like the old one. This is the first reason for the dominance of electronic coins over the dollar. Secondly, sooner or later, but the empire (I mean the dominance of the dollar) is experiencing a revolution. This is the human essence - always fight for your idea, because we all strive for the best!  Wink

not altcoin. Bitcoin will replace dollar. We all know that bitcoin is the first digital currency and it is likely to replace fiat.

bitcoin is already tradeable in foreign exchanges thats why there is a higher possibility that it will become the international digital currency

A cryptocurrency that will reach at least a trillion dollar marketcap. Bitcoin is the best contender but not even halfway. So when you say some altcoin has potential will replace dollar is bit far fetched right now. Maybe a few decade from now.

Both bitcoin and altcoyn already began to crowd conventional currency, especially in the banking sector. Most altcoins displace conventional currency in the narrow sphere of activity for which they were created. Very successful in this bitcoin, who know more than other types of crypto currency. However, in my opinion, they can not completely replace the usual currency. Paper money will go on for a very long time along with crypto currency. This should be a slow, evolutionary process. Money does not like haste.
