You need to understand that every altcoin is a certain team which is working on the implementation of a specific project, so the investment in altcoins are more preferable than investing in bitcoin, which now has no practical application. I think that after the altcoins recognize as securities, their investment attractiveness will increase in several times.

In my humble opion, it can not go any low than current situation. Most of the coins are dipped. Get your bags while its still low.

There are a kot of altcoins to pick in the dip but of course I am not telling you that all of them are gonna be great and profitable and I am also not telling that all of them are gonna be a shitcoin of course they will always be difference from them all. Of course for you to be assured invest in those famous coin like litecoins they are always been in the forum a lot of people are talking about rhem and ethereum also is one that is always been in the watch of a lot of people.
I think it is good to buy for now bitcoin because bitcoin is a great coin and the price of bitcoin for now is very chep and buy and hold for the longterm.
As for me, I am trusting only in the top currencies like bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, or something similar. I don't trust in all those new altcoins, because in my opinion they can possibly die during the Dip!

Ripple and Ethereum man, picking Ripple when the price is cheap that is so good, also Ethereum when price gets dump, it is good to buy that coin now. Ripple have a good platform and that is bank, and Ethereum is more popular to the other altcoins.
Their are quite a numerous number of altcoins to buy now but I would advice you limit it to the ones that are good and have massive potentials. Wanchain, Neo, stellar, Etherum are the ones I can recommend you to get for the long term
I don't think market will go much lower from current levels , so it is a good time to buy crypto right now . The main thing is to make a right desicion choosing among different altcons . I suggest you to buy at least 3 altcoins in order to diversify your portfolio , this could be Ethereum , AION and Zilliqa . This is a coins on their own blockchain , have very solid technology behind and amazing perspectives for a furher growth . Of course, Ethereum is already number 2 in crypto market , but I believe it still have a great potential .
