I'm still interested in Altcoins because they are interesting to hold as a short term investment. Many people live off alt coin day trading as well. It's good to get involved with the altcoin community.

There is still a lot to be discovered with altcoins. Many new things can still be done with altcoins. The future is very bright.

I've invested in Monero because it has good fungibility (protocol level mixing). It's code base is distinct from most of the other alts which are based largely on Bitcoin.

Altcoins can have very fast transaction time. They can have less value, if compared with BTC - that means you can send small value with acceptable transfer cost or even without any transfer cost  Wink

Altcoins are definitely interesting. While most are scams, there is some real development behind some of the projects witch have and will in the future, benefit the cryptospace.

Altcoins are kins of neat, some of them.  I happen to like DOGE.  The problem is that there's no economic use for them other than trading for the most part. The list of things you can buy with DOGE would fit on an index card.  Viva la bitcoin!

I believe it's important to distinguish between various altcoins. Just forking a tech won't help. There is a couple of altcoins that are built entirely from scratch, which helps the whole market somewhat diversify. Do not follow copycats; they're created for quick profit and have nothing to stand the time.

Most currencies in top 20 on coinmarketcap represent different technology platform (with some notable exceptions of course). So for me it's more about platform/tech competition. If the altcoin shows some real dev, consider it. But still be aware that the majority altcoin markets can actually be manipulated.

Lots of people still mine and trade arts.  There's quick money to be made from them if done right.

I see what you did there.  Wink

Sooner or later all those crapcoins and maybe BTC will be banned from the authorities.
You're saying that "shitty" sites will get banned from the authorities too?

Has anyone is still interested in Altcoins? Why?

Yes. I am interested in altcoins. And even I am investing in one of those. The reason is very simple and don't want to much to be understood. I am investing because I believe that this altcoin might have good future. If it will be so I will have very good profit and even more. May have enough even to make other important investments. But is an investment considered with high risk. So have nothing sure on it. Only the hope and some signs that give hopes about a future possible success.

Altcoins are speculative tool for the most part. Created by people who wants to profit from them and nothing more. Creating an altcoin is not expensive and can be achieved for less than a $50.
That is a reason we have so many similar coins in our crypto ecosystem which are not worth anything. If you are not professional trader of altcoin your best choice is to ignore that market.

Most Altcoins nowadays are shitcoins. They are just blatant pump & dump schemes that the owner profits from.

Do not invest in them.
