I think that all alts will recover somewhat after the fork, perhaps not to the levels they were at previously, but certainly to close and to a level which is similar in USD when you factor in how much BTC has increased.

I bought a lot of Waves when the price was at 0.0012 each waves (around $4 by that time) and now waves is around $3,7 each one (and btc price of them is below 0.0007)
So i was in huge loss with them, that is why i decided to sell them yesterday so i bought some bitcoin with that money. I had a lot of money invested on waves, but i decided to turn to btc because it is the only one who is rising right now.
I dont know the reason of why all the altcoins are going down atm

Just hold. they will go up after this whole bitcoin people chasing the free money. Everyone has been moving money out of alts temperately so just be patient. In the meantime get into airdrops such as deeponion. Cant lose there.

In my opinion some alts have have not reached the bottom yet, others are very near. I think that in November we should expect some recovery but it depends on BTC. If it continues to rise alts will catch up. But what we see now people are dumping their altcoin holdings for BTC. There are 3 major reasons, IMO: 1. Upcoming BTC fork and "free coins"; 2. very quick BTC rise and FOMO associated with it; 3. Traders are just shorting their altcoin positions.

Last weeks have been crazy for altcoins. In my eyes, everything is on sale! Smiley
Of course, this happens because bitcoin is doing crazy good.

This is in the nature of the game unfortunately. You need to be careful when you see dramatic rise in the bitcoin value. Altcoins are more vulnerable and make you lose money in cases like this. Only thing you need to do is not to panic and don't sell your alt coins. They will eventually gain value and turn to normal soon.

Hello!

After the last rise of BTC I lost 20% of my alts
Here are the coins I invested in:
NEO - bought at 0.0063
STRAT  - bought at 0.00074
QTUM  - bought at 0.012
XRP  - bought at 0.000054
OMG  - bought at 0.0017
WAVES - bought at 0.00088

I didn't see that market crash coming tho..
My question is do you think these coins might go up again after 25th Oct.?

Lol 20% thats nothing pshh. I think my overall portfolio got smashed by like 40% (I did have one big holding). But as per your question yeah I think that is a reasonable assumption to make. If the price of btc has been rising

because of btc gold then after btc gold snapshot happens it can only stand to reason that btc itself will likely retrace down some. This is my best guess though nothing is certain.

It won't last very long. Soon after the hard fork, every thibg will go back to normal. Of course I don't expect altcoin prices to fall very much than today's price.

Just HODL up and dont cut losses.Just like yours my portfolio is bleeding which most alts that i did invest are on negative which would really make you panic specially when you see 20-30% negative but well this is how market works and i would say prices would eventually recovered after these forking event on bitcoin.

They will go back up after BTG, people will take profits from BTC/BTG and move back in to alts.

Currently BTC is rising rapidly which causes the altcoins to bleed. Most probably, this is because of traders selling altcoins and buying BTC to enjoy free bitcoin gold. My view is that altcoins will recover after the fork on 25 Oct.

On a side note, XRP has good news recently and the volume is picking up. Hopefully, the price will increase during the Oct event.
