Some of these coins were pretty solid and im sure they will do just fine without Polo also. Polo is a huge player for alts but it is possible to manage without it also

Expecting the same thing already they are listed in other big exchange like Bittrex, many people are moving their coin to Bittrex.
But whether it is still profitable after delisting them from Polo? My question on this coin keeps on thinking twice because many devs did a lot of hard work for the past 2 years.

Polo is just spreading some love to other exchanges. Why should Polo took all cream if also other exchanges needs it?  I think this is a great move from Polo since will make centralised altcoin exchanging more decentralised.  I am sure they will work in this way more and soon there will be less then 50 coins listed on Poloniex. They do this now fro 2 years.

You could research the 50 coins that was delisted in last year. How price changed after delisting. That might also project what wil happen with those. Maybe buying delisted coins is actually a good investment.

That's high risk, even very high risk. Usually people who have delisted coins will panic and do massive dump, especially if the coin delisted from big exchange.
It's need more research into the developer and the community of the coin itself.

i have recently read the article and some of them has very upset because poloniex delisted their coin without explanations and they says that their project hasn't dead yet but before the coins was delisted i think they have to more concern for their project and make more efforts to avoid poloniex delisted their coin because continue the project after the price dropped more than 50% is very difficult

Delisting the coin is not easier to digest for investors like me but we cannot do anything we have to move Polo to other exchanges. I think these delisting coins are not securing minimum trading volumes may be, so Polo is not answering to them only because of that only.

pretty much the same game is being done buying a coin at the top of an ATH
don't be the bagholder .
Still if you already are , a lot of coin delisted from polo will survive and possibly recover after years
so hope is being sold.

7 of 17 altcoin communities, that are going to be delisted from Poloniex, are not dead and have commented on the situation.

After the announcement from Poloniex, each of the cryptocurrencies faced a major price fall. Some of these coins have lost 30-75% of their price in just a couple of hours. Traders and the community were shocked with the list of coins delisted and the fact that there are no explanations of why Poloniex decided to do it.

No no no no no.  Buying a delisted coin is silly.  It's a sucker trap.  Who do you think you're going to be able to sell this shit to?  The markets are too thin and the risk is way too high.   You buy low and sell high when something has a chance at growing,  but these things don't have any chance whatsoever.

Exchanges delist coins on a regular basis, Bittrex uses low volume as it's trigger and Poloniex will have their own reasoning.

Solid coins shouldn't really be based on an exchange listing obviously it helps with visibility to be listed but if the coin is good it will live on.

If these coins are dropping in price due to the delisting it could be a good time to snap up some of those coins.

Poloniex is delisting these coins because of their low trading volume. If you check the markets and look the coins with less volume there are the coins that are going to be taken away. It´s a decision that exchange platforms use to take, when a coin have a low trading volume for a certain time it uses to be delisted to put another coin in its place.

Let's face it. Majority of coin buyers are just hoping to buy and sell for BTC profit. Once delisted, your btc is stuck in an alt you don't really believe in. That's why prices become stagnant (demand exhausted to equilibrium) and then crash after delisting.

They are not delisting them because they are thinking them to be dead, they never told so. They took this bad decision because those markets where not enough profitable. And beside that they keep some Ethereum and Monero markets with near no trading volume...

I think Polo delisted some of those altcoins because thy are not profitable as mentioned. But at least Polo should have the decency to informed the owners of the developer about their decision. No given explanation by Polo so we are all speculating why they decided so delist them and why keep some like Monero with no trading volume.

You misunderstood my post. Monero has volume, but there is some pairs, XMR-XXX, that have low volume, not BTC-XMR, that has a great a volume.

I thought that the alt-coins they Poloniex are delisting are already dead and low volume trading? Maybe low volume trading is one factor that Poloniex used to de-list some of alt-coins. But now dev is coming out and saying that their alt-coins has purpose and still being developed. I think Poloniex need to reach out to the developers to better get a clear picture before de-listing them.

Just because the price falls by 30-40%, it doesn't mean that the coin is dead. Those coins that they are delisting have been listed since 2+ years and some coins have a price as high as $2-$3 with a good market status. They might lose many users due to this decision.
