Altcoins are just hurting because everyone is trying to hold bitcoin right now. They will bounce back once everyone sells out their bitcoin and tries to get their alt holdings back.

With Bitcoin rising steadily, and most Altcoins coming crashing down. What does the community think about the future of Altcoin prices and the future of Altcoins as well?
the same old pump and dumps.
i have pulled out of all my altcoin positions and sold all but 2 coins (LTC and GBYTE) i will hold these two to the grave Cheesy
what i will do is to watch the prices and watch bitcoin price closely. as soon as bitcoin stabilized and i saw the alts recover i will invest back in. there is good profit to be made from this.

I'll answer first. So I don't really see a need for most altcoins and I think people are going to start seeing through this as well, slowly but surely that is.
not seeing the need or potential or usage,... and lots of other things doesn't mean you can't make a good profit from them though.
heck i always bash ethereum but i have made a lot of profit from its pumps.

Most altcoins are basically just good for being pumped and that is the only advantage they add to the community anyway. Just the ability to trade them with BTC for profit while capitalizing on their pumps. No one believes in them and the future they have, unless we just do not want to face fact and that is why it became so easy for everyone to dump them pretty fast to at least have some bitcoins instead.

I'm not sure whether Ethereum is considered to be an altcoin. If it is, then I do not think that your statements apply to all altcoins. The list of members in the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance is impressive I must say (https://entethalliance.org/).

There are still some good deals on altcoins all around, I'm still adding some more expecting some nice profits before the end of the month.

to be fail there has been a lot of interesting ideas in altcoins. i have not yet completely given up on them despite most of them just being copy paste crap of projects not doing anything at all!

the future is hard for all of them because they will all be seen with one eye when there are lots and lots of useless projects. but eventually i do believe that good projects will survive and grow.

and as we can see, currently it is time for getting dumped Grin

Bitcoin will be dumped soon and all altcoins will see a hard pump. I don't buy bitcoin because it is so speculative coin, I started to hate its community.
The only reason a lot of speculations are surrounding bitcoin today is as a result of its value and popularity compared to any other shitty coin out there.

No one will blame you if you hate the community and decides to use all your funds to buy hazza which your signature is representing, however, if you think bitcoin will be dumped and altcoin will be pumped pretty hard after the fork, you had better think twice. Cause someone like me will just end up using the free BCC coin to even buy more BTC.

Are you sure, Bitcoin is what hold the ALtcoin market together, true there is no need for 90% of the current Altcoin but since there is money to be made here people will invest into it.

Yeah I agree. Best time to buy altcoins would probably be a few days right before the fork. Although since there's another fork in november, the prices probably won't recover until after.

It seems the altcoins dump did not last long and today most are green alongwith bitcoin.
Still two weeks to go until Bitcoin gold fork so there can be more selling after some bounce.
Just need to hold tight through all this.

Sorry but I disagree.  BTC is king now and probably for a long time still but it will eventually be dethroned...likely by one of these altcoins.

You know why BTC is forking so many times?  Because it is obsolete and it is trying hard to evolve and catch up.  Tech wise, most coins are much better than it now...it is just the first.

too much hype on btc and many investors have choose to use the fund on it instead of Alts. once the price for btc is getting stable, the Alts will rise and it will be quick.

With the fork a lot of people get out of alts and into bitcoin. After the fork people will get out of bitcoin and into alts, to increase their BTC value. Bitcoin dominance is now at 52% and last week was about 44% so yeah it will revert back and all dumps will be quick gains. Now is actually the time to buy into alts.
