Soon we'll be happy to see first atomic traders thanks to lightning networks, we will be able to to trade cross chains with heterogeneous block-chain consensus rules ..This opens roads for true decentralization and more natural trade. So far only few coins can say working on this implementation (others will follow), which can change game dramatically.

I've used Bitsquare before and it has some good sellers of there for certain coins, but compared to other exchanges it's pretty deserted there.
I really like the way it works though, so I certainly hope traffic picks up and they offer some more trading pairs in the future.
My experience is from about a month ago btw Wink
I've also asked this question before in the trading section, but got almost no replies on that topic Sad

This is because people are uneducated in most cases they think if an exchange is based in US then it is secure, and won't happen anything wrong. Decentralized exchanges are something new and majority don't even bother to investigate little more on this topic because they are busy making profit.
Whit those prices of BTC it is just matter of time, when will happen another GOX.
We need  decentralization!

I'm usually use poloniex , the most trusted exchanger I've ever known over three years.
Trollbox is good way to ask /share people's experience

Bittrex also great and simple exchanger.
It's work smooth so you can trade with no worries of lag and provide high security

It depends very much on what coins you are trading. For example there are coins on Bittrex that arn't on Polo, and vice versa. And a lot of shitcoins are listed on Yobit only.

Coinmarketcap lists the exchanges in order of volume:

https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/

Go down the list and pick the one that trades the coins you are interested in.

All mentioned exchanges are centralized and you don't own access to private keys, so best solution is decentralized exchanges which are more secure and private, you do not need to leave them your ID or address of living.. But i don't know why this is not more popular.

https://counterparty.io/
https://bitshares.openledger.info/

Excellent information here.
Thanks for posting this, was not aware of these options.
Does anyone have any feedback/experiences with any of the above?

Hello,

I could suggest you to use bittrex as exchange by making some trade in the market. Or you can also use C-cex, or novaexchange.com
For me these sites was good for me. Poloniex is good, but that was before, because there is some issues going on now about it so its not a good time to take trade in polo right now.
