To think there are hundreds of altcoins out there and hundreds of upcoming ICO’s promoting altcoins and their uses. I wonder how can an altcoin have value when there are lot of altcoins have almost the same platform and uses? what are the basis of this value in an altcoin that have the same uses?

The key is PR,business contacts and of course legal barriers. So, It's truth there are too many clones of for example Litecoin and may their market cap be millions of dollars and we also know too many good but dead projects which have not had good pr managers  or may they didn't have  special goals,The problem isn't only in themselves.despite the fact I always try to take into account the principle : ,,X Coin that is the first tool of its kind will have a strong First-mover advantage''.
Anyway the answer is PR and artificially created problems or influences.

Imagine that there are a lot of social networks and they all have similar functionality, but you use Facebook. And in a neighboring country, Facebook is banned and there people use the local social network, and someone likes to see photos and it is enough Instagram. From a variety of social networks, everyone chooses their own. As with altline, and many projects one focus create competition and drive the progress.

Yes, there are about 1.4k of alt coins being released. Lots have the same uses and platform. If you are smart you would choose not to invest in those coins because you should only want to invest in new technology as it may have more chance. As the market starts to slow down (mature), you will see that the shit coins will disappear. It is your duty to make sure you don’t invest in these coins and do the research to know which coin is the best to invest in.

There are actually thousands of altcoins, not hundreds and new ones coming out daily.  The price is determined by the investors but can also be manipulated by certain groups, teams, etc if the trading volume is low.

For the value of altcoins, it will depend on the potential of each project as well as the needs of the user. Many ICO projects are releasing daily but finding a genuinely potential project is very difficult. Because of that, the value of the ICO altcoins is always low. In the future, if ICO management is tight, the market will only have potential ICO, the exchange rate of altcoins will rise.

the future lies in adoption of the project as new investors stream in, remember not much of the world knows about cryptos yet. So we early adopters are quite lucky

the point is that the various altcoins being created are projects aimed at using the blockchain technology to solve certain problems in banking and finance, real estate, gaming etc meaning that their value depends on the adoption and usage of their tokens and platforms by people and that is simply it,so if no one uses those altcoins, they wont have value in the long run.

If you clever then you will never invest a money on new coins which has the same use of exciting coins because those coins may end in a shit coin. It is not hundreds but currently more than 1500 coins are in the market and market slowly matures then some of these shits coins will disappear from the market. So it is very important to invest only in good coins and wait for them to give you good returns.

You should look at ICO's representing same idea like a startups doing the same thing, at the end it all comes down who could make it better and who not.
Its obvious that we don't need all 1500 coins which we see at coinmarketcap, as well as clone projects who represent the same idea, written and looking a bit different.
The market will eventually clean itself from coins and projects with no future, so only strong and well supported by community projects will survive.
Some altcoins doesn't have even a real value, but when the market is bullish we see them flying so high with enormous market caps, this growth is not natural, and some coins will never repeat that run again, so be careful when investing in coins which are long time on the market.
Thank you for answering sir. There is still question i need an answer, what is the purpose of the new ICO’s being launched but latter on it will end up into shit coin? I think its a very tricky doing of new ICO’s that investors invest in these ICO’s and end up lossing their money in it?

in my opinion, to determine valuable altcoins is somewhat difficult, since most ICOs produce nearly the same product results, but it all depends on our foresight to see the growth and market interest in the ICO and how they market and experience the team managing the ICO.

The crypto world of business is new, it needs some time to build a solid foundation so that most of the altcoins can thrive on it. Value is a function of moribund factors including project utility, demand and supply curve, team, product market etc. There is always a unique factor that differentiate every altcoin project. What we need is a massive adoption of altcoins to add value to the crypto ecosystem.

that is the problem with the altcoin market, don't you think? the technology is open source and free for anyone to use. unfortunately these days this usage means copying other people's works and changing the name only. which is why so many similar coins exist out there and none of them are doing anything but being traded on exchanges!

this is also the reason for the expert not having any faith in the altcoins and only focus their real attention on bitcoin and use altcoins for speculation only.

Altcoins value depends on several factors. First the success of the projects and their markets. Second the number of investors and the community and their involvement in promoting the respective coins or projects. Third the real world use and intrinsic value of the coins. Finally the most important is the supply and demand of the coins.
Manipulation and speculation are the main reason of price growth. And all your points of interest are as help for this MM. Nothing personal only business
more value is in some coins that provides certain services or goods. In other words, they are the development of companies with a certain direction. Basically, all coins have a price due to demand. That is their value.

A large number of ICO are scam where the main reason is that they reflect the same existing concept. Those altcoin in the market with the same nature must possess have some differences like difference in the block size and some other specs, which are a reason of their existence.

depending on the altcoin developer if they have a good concept and the real project is very good for the altcoin, but if the developers only temporarily want to promote their ico there is no development for the future it will be destroyed

Yup many new coins with same use are coming into market.never invest into these kind of coins.always try to invest on mature Altcoins like ETH,LTC,BCH.these are strong Altcoin and you can expect to get handsome ROI from them.now a days many shit coins which are hyped only are entering identify them and avoid to invest in these.make research on coins and invest only in those which are continously backed by developers.
