I wouldn't take investment advice from posts here, you need to do your own research and decided. But it can definitely be worth mining and investing in altcoins. The key will be to identify projects and platforms that have future use cases. Investing in Ether when they did your pre sale would bring you huge returns now, so it is evident that there is money to be made. There are many possible winners right now on the market, just look into what you think will succeed.

Mine/invest in the one you believe in

Ask yourself what impact the project or coin might have in the future, the higher the impact the higher its value

Tell me,which new altcoin is worth mining??
Which do you think is worth investing??

For speed in transactions confirmation I think you can invest in eth related coins like creditbit which has been existing since 2015. The coins is currently trade in livecoin website you can also do more research by using google as they are many articles on the opportunity this coin provides.
It is always happening, some people will come with some random altcoins and talking about investing with it. Most of the time they are newbie or they are wearing corresponding signatures. No wonders as I can understand.

Basically I'm not recommending mining any cryptocurrency as it needs continuous re-investments to stay competitive along with raising difficulty levels. But investing into highly established altcoins is a thing I'm always doing and recommending it but only with carefully chosen altcoins.

What you guys think about BURST? It's the only HDD mineable coin (afaik) but it's pretty worthless atm - around 200 sats. I'm wondering if it will ever go higher, because I have an opprotunity to mine it for free (no energy and hdd costs). Any thoughts?

In this thread, people spamming shitcoins that won't be worth shit but they have an investment in and want to make them have a larger userbase.

Felt same. Most of the people suggest here according to what they want us to do, we need some real answers for our queries from the forum members.
Presently litecoin and Zcash are the two rising stars of cryptocurrencies, we can see the graph of litecoin and understand why am saying this.
Yeah, Zcash and LTC have made a big pumping in the price. If this continues for a longer time period we can expect more users give preference to these coins in the trading purpose. Also these days lots of currencies have gained more investors and market capital which is expected to peak anytime soon.

look at whattomine for minable coins, currently feathercoin lbry zecash are doing very well on nvidia, and the recent price pump on ETH is good for amd mining, if you want more profit, look at bitcore or other new coins that are released, there is high return for now in crypto with mining, for investing i only do it with very cheap coins, i can buy more and risk less

By the current status of altcoin you can say they are a good investment and in terms of mining is altcoins is the best option because bitcoin mining isn't profitable but altcoin mining is profitable. What you can do is mine any altcoin and convert to bitcoin.

In the both , you will get profit but surely you will need for the patience to increase in the price .
Mining through your PC can be profitable like to make profit about 10-20$ per month but if you will hold that altcoin and sell after the increase in the price then you will make much profit .
And in case of Investment , you also need to wait until the price , in the most of the cases the newbies bought altcoins but after one to two weeks wait they sold at low price because they loss Thier patience and lost Thier hope that they wil make money .
So in the both cases hold.your patience in your mind  , then surely you will make money .

If you want to do real and legit Mining then Ofcourse you need to share the power of your mining system ( PC hardware ) .
But here I will suggest you not to get in the Mining like less profitable things , I will suggest you to Invest in the altcoins Because Investment in the altcoins are the better way of the income and profit Because it is the universal truth ( as I seen in the history of my trading life ) that every altcoin will once jump in the altcoins market once , so just buy those altcoins in the beginning and wait until the altcoin get pump .

only 2 days old... code looks excelent
Code looks excellent compared to what?

OP, you might do well mining some of these shitcoins and then selling them for bitcoin, but I don't think any of them should be held for long.  And by that I mean longer than a month.  After that, it's like one of these hot tech stock IPOs.  People start dumping them onto the market, and the price tanks.  So as long as you keep that perspective you ought to do fine.

Mining and investing are completely different things, when you mine you are going to get some coins but most of the time you will need to sell immediately to cover the costs of electricity, while in investing you can take your time and wait for the best opportunity to sell.

Mining: Yes, if the coin is new and if you are one of the early adapters. At the beginning, the price is usually high and drops short after start. Just mine the first weeks and you will make good profit.

Investing: This depends on the coin and the tech a coin offers. If you have a longterm investing horizon in mind, then established coins (most of the top 20 coin in marketcap) are worth to invest in.

The ArtByte (formerly AppleByte) pool is profitable for ASICs, GPUs, and CPUs for two reasons:

1. The linux source code was not released in order to limit the ability of the large multipools to mine the coin.

2. The official ArtByte (formerly AppleByte) pool pays a bonus to GPU & CPU miners on every block the pool finds. This bonus is paid by the AppleByte Foundation, not the miners.

ArtByte (formerly AppleByte) official pool: http://pool.artbyte.me

AppleByte/ArtByte (ABY) is traded on Poloniex and Bittrex
