I was just complaining in another thread that you have to have so many wallets,  each with its own key, password,  file, each to be airgapped, each to never ever be lost or that's it forever. It's going to be awesome when cold storage technology gets up to speed. Put it on your stick and rest easy, one seed for everything if you lose it. I don't generally use any of the altcoin software wallets except sia, and I read all about it first. That's not to say it can't be compromised in the future but nothing's perfect.

If your wallet is a good volume of bitcoins, you need to divide them into several purses, and not allow anyone to your system man, in order to avoid scammers.

Generally, if you have a large amount of bitcoins on a given PC, being extra-cautious about third party software (be it an Alt-coin client or a particularly fancy casual game) is advisable.

Yes, an alternative Blockchain can also be based on a linear ordering of structures or systems like a block. Other structures also depends on what  you need or ready to sacrifice cos there are other alternate tech in the system which are sometime decentralized.

All that matters is the total expected time of the confirmations, so that 1 10-minute-average confirmation is more secure than 3 3-minute-average confirmations. If you read Satoshi's paper it's clear this isn't true; the number of confirmations is actually more important because transaction security increases exponentially with more confirmations.

I agree with you. That's partly why I have not messed with the alt chains. I even mentioned this in the announcement thread for lxcoin but it got drowned out with all the excitement about it.

Thank you for the advice! I agree that you should learn as much as possible about a given project, especially nowadays, when there are tons of scammers out there

I work for a cybersecurity company and read a lot of scam and hacking stories. Safety and security in technical (IT) terms is not my strong suit. In general, when you do decide to install software for a new altcoin, I agree with the others who suggested using a separate machine. Especially for newbies like me, because we don't know how to look "under the hood" to check that malware or keylogger is not packaged with any new downloads and installs.

I always use a different password for each of my different account on centralized shits,And obviously a different seed, but I suppose that this is more what everybodie does. Regarding password though this was important to say it because ppl are used to use all the time the same password everywhere and in crypto its simply a drama if you do that.

Blokchains Within mainstream media, the prototypical framework used to clarify blockchain is the bitcoin arrange. However, this is only one sort of arrangement in this space. It is helpful to consider three principle sorts of blockchain, or "distributedledger" Blockchain exists at the traverse amongst financial matters and innovation. To apply it adequately, we have to comprehend the two sides of its identity. The financial aspects of a framework will influence the specialized plan and the other way around.

It facilitates formal verification, a technique which mathematically proves the correctness of the code governing transactions and boosts the security of the most sensitive or financially weighted smart contracts.

I don't generally experience this yet however I trust this may be perhaps these days. knowing the limits of innovation these days is so wide and wide. on the off chance that it will happen I don't this will be use in great reason. as you say in your pattern. it can be accustomed to hacking exercises or even most noticeably awful. as a venturer here on crypto word allows just not seek after this sort of thing to happen.

Additionally, don't think everything that noticeable individuals from the Bitcoin people group need to say in regards to elective chains. Specifically, I know a few people surmise that the quantity of affirmations doesn't make a difference and the only thing that is important is the aggregate expected time of the affirmations, with the goal that 1 10-minute-normal affirmation is more secure than 3-minute-normal affirmations. On the off chance that you read Satoshi's paper it's reasonable this isn't valid; the quantity of affirmations is in reality more essential since exchange security increments exponentially with more affirmations. (His paper has inexact figures; you'll see that tolerant 1 and 2-affirmation exchanges is genuinely hazardous.)

Hi Gavin,
thanks for your observation. Its true that you haven't seen anybody post about the above subject " what would be my biggest worry if i were trying out alternative block chains". The trust remains people are doing that and people are trying out alternative block chains, only that they are paying it safe till certainty becomes their achievement. since block chains world, is a world people learns a everyday.
Again, you were right about "don't invest more money or time that you can't afford to lose"  these two says it all:
1st, Not all can afford to have more than one machine.
2nd, Not all have the head to create different passphrase they will remember at every exchange site.
But all can avoid to set time aside, they can avoid to let go and all can avoid not putting money and just watch or put in just what we can afford to let go.
thank you for your advice and observation, now people can do more research on the above topic and come up with better results.
