I think that there is no good alternative of Facebook on Blockchain today but in the nearest future it should appear. I am interested in this topic and would be glad to hear your ideas about social networks.

i am very interested in this actually but i don't think it is going to be possible. i would to actually see a decentralized platform that is working peer to peer without any centralized authority, no accounts, no middle man, no coin, no token, only data and every data is being stored on the blockchain in a decentralized manner.

unfortunately so far i only keep seeing tokens being created with the promise of a decentralized facebook but they create a centralized facebook-like platform and only get some money to do it.

"facebook on blockchain" should mean you don't use any coin/token to get there. it should mean you don't visit a website in your browser that is registered by a centralized group/person to get there. it means you open it in a decentralized way like how you share files with torrent.
that is why i think it is not possible because it has the potential of getting too big in a very short time.

I don't think there are any chances of beating Facebook. Even if you make a better platform in terms of tech, the people won't be there so

But the current throughput of the blockchain is still inadequate, so facebook needs to deal with a lot of data at the same time.
I think the current blockchain is still difficult to complete.

Hi - I am wondering what alternatives there are/will be to Facebook on the blockchain?
With all the scandal surrounding FB increasing at the moment, I have heard that there are (or will be) alternatives that are on the blockchain which will provide increased security.
I have heard of Howdoo and ONG Social.
I have researched Howdoo as like it's branding, platform and potential.

I am looking for people's views on what's out there now and what will be out their in the future.
Specifically I am interested in a platform that combine many features, allows for ads to be blocked and increased security of personal data.

Thanks

i think a better platform than facebook built on blockchain will come along but since facebook is more popular and everything, i don't think it'll catch on.

Hello Everyone, thought i'd contribute to this article.

I am also personally looking at Howdoo.

From what I have researched, The security features are unique compared to the likes of facebook. Having a decentralised Social Media platform where you can earn Udoo's from watching ad's that you specifically choose is great for a Gamer like me for example. Also I am looking forward to being able to Earn myself from "Potentially" being able to stream ( I HOPE  Grin Grin ) And earn Udoo's via tips if this does become a thing...

This could be every little piece of social media that exists built into one decentralised platform.

Cheesy I can not wait for the future.

Thankyou

We already have some projects like that. Social network on blockchain, will be our future, traditional social network like facebook now give us nothing, they even sold our information for money, and for other purposes. So bad to hear that, but it's the truth.

but I assure that facebook has a different perspective as to why it can happen like this, but we do not deny that mutual need will make everything will accept what will happen

indeed facebook give an impact when they banned ico and crypto some time ago, but I think facebook is not a serious threat to the world of crypto. there's a lot of blockchain based social media available today available and I am sure in the future they will be the most popular social media that can be the toughest rival for facebook.

Interesting to see all these different social media platforms as I didn’t know there were so many. I’ll have to take a look at them all. The only one Iv see pop up a lot is HowDoo, probably because there sale starts soon. Does all the rest of these have fully working platforms out?

I think over time everything is changing and people want something new and better than Facebook, so new projects will be more interesting and those who will support this market.

I've heard something called Mithril which is an experimental social network on the ethereum blockchain.
Don't have a clear idea about how they works but they promises to reward for you likes and shares.

I participated in lot of projects. But, Tipper Economy is a social platform like Facebook. But in tipper economy you get paid by the likes and shares and etc. Unfortunately the ICO is already finished. This project is another alternative to Facebook.

Minds is making moves to implement the Ethereum blockchain into its core features. After launching in 2015, Minds.com has quickly grown to one million registered accounts and over 73 million unique page views.

Now, the project is taking decentralization even further with the launch of the Minds Crypto Social Network. This evolution of the platform will make it a fully functioning dApp running on the Ethereum blockchain for both mobile and web devices, replete with a white paper to outline this direction and the specifications of the project’s next step.

Thanks for the tip - I am Youtubing it as I type this.

I'm watching Howdoo, but it may be an uphill struggle for them breaking the dominance of FB, when even Google couldn't make a dent.

Not ruling it out, I just need to see more.

Do they have an MVP?

Yes I have downloaded the demo on my tablet looks pretty good. I agree it might be an uphill battle, but the timing is perfect for change. FB have not had any serious competition for many years. I think the market is looking for increased control over their personal data and security. The other thing I hate are the constant 'spammy' adverts on FB. I haven't tested it yet, but I hear that Howdoo actually rewards the users with their token if they decide to see ads. In fact you can choose to completely turn them off which is great.

I am struggling to find a competitor to Howdoo that is as far forward as them for my investment.

That is why I am asking what else there is out there.....

Ah! There is best project to focus on this one. Meet Sociall coin, its already in the competition and have closed beta platform working. They have already got more than thousand registration and sending out more invitation.

The project is so much in demand that they have their own campaign called as Replace Facebook with Sociall on the twitter and it has already gotten the good repose over there. You might wanna follow that one on medium blog of @Socaill. Hope you will find it best.
