Looks like crapcoins have dropped as well as legitimate coins.  Bitcoin is up but where is all of the volume that has been around the last few weeks?  Where does the money go?

Soooo, apart from few exceptions, all major alts are losing value, but BTC is not rising significantly. What's going on? Is this due to the upcoming Halving? Some people say that at least ETH dropping is in anticipation of the Lisk launch, but that seems a little far fetched to me. What do you think?

April 15th, TAX time in the US.
People selling so they can make their tax payments.

 Cool

This good be a reason for the market crash today. I saw ETH going towards 8 USD very fast. Luckily the damage now is not that bad.
My stellar and potcoin only lost 10%, where it was 30% at the starting of the day.
Yeah, but some of these coins are getting slaughtered, be glad you don't own those.  I'm always watching the shit ones on Yobit and it's a fascinating study in behavioral economics.

LTC is not dumping, so stop lying with all major alts are dumping please.

Obviously, Ether is a scam, and therefore, smart people are dumping their zero-use, ipo, pre-mine, scammy ether shitcoins.

The reason why alts are dumping is: first sign of mega BTC & LTC pump this summer Smiley.
Is this what I was just saying, litecoin is the most stable of them all right now.
Just keep looking forward and not mind what is going on with the other alts right now.
Keep mining those ltc  Grin

Although I don't mind they dropped this many, this much, usually this happens together with BTC going up. And BTC seems to just stay ...

I hope that when the money flow goes back into alts, I really hope BTC will not fall too much..

[The long-term option] above should ideally happen before placing a single trade, because then it makes it much easier to hold during a downturn than panic-sell. There are alts that I am willing to hold for years (and have) and some I don't want to hold for more than a day. Panic selling seldom goes down well.

Well said! As an old-fashioned stock-market writer said long long ago: "If you don't know yourself [i.e., what kind of person you are], the stock market is an expensive place to find out."

I had to learn the hard way early on that I'm more of a long-term-horizon guy than a short-term-horizon guy.

Some people say that at least ETH dropping is in anticipation of the Lisk launch, but that seems a little far fetched to me. What do you think?

Pullbacks are inevitable. If anyone here's got burned, I suggest picking one of the two:

1. "I can ride this downturn because I have confidence that my altcoin's gonna be a winner over the long term." --> "I'll check up on the coin's development and ecosystem growth, and if all's still going fine I'll ignore the downturn; perhaps I'll buy a little more on a regular basis."

2. "I got my fingers burned badly" ---> "I just learned a hard and expensive lesson from the school of hard knocks. I'm a trader at heart, so I'd better learn the lesson that I paid the 'tuition' for. Next time, I'll be quicker to pull out to either protect some of my profits or limit my losses."

Really, it depends on what you (or I) am hoping for. These two options make you, me and everyone else ask, "Why am I here? What do I hope to gain? When do I hope to gain?" Once you (or I) have an answer, it's best to stick with it.

Seriously? What the hell crazy phenomenon is happening?!!

Every coin is crashing to unbelievable prices! Ethereum to < $8, Monero to < $1 and Factom to $1.1!

Why so serious? Why now? Why?  Shocked

a) Cos you are a n00b and 'believed' in the faerie stories fundamentals put about to 'explain' the rise.

b) Cos you FOMO bought, whilst the smart money has been cashing out all the way up.

c) Cos this is what happens all the time with these worthless shitcoins.
Value is currently rising, so you can postpone your disgusting language a little bit.

maybe it is all the start of the bitcoin price rise. all those money that is coming out of these altcoins needs to go in some place else.

i am sure not all of them will go completely out and most of it will be invested in some place else.
