Hi folks, I got some additional information today.

He tricked me into trading with him using another identity (bitpeter) although the trade was legitimate and he provided the bitcoin (he went first), I figured out later that they were one and the same due to same sort code, same IP, same location.

Here is another alias of the elusive alwaysminings for you folks, Mr Peter Knowles 87568829 601717

My sources for this information:
(20:15:58) bitpeter [5e07dd7b@gateway/web/freenode/ip.94.7.221.123] entered the room.
(12:30:16) alwaysminings [5e07dd7b@gateway/web/freenode/ip.94.7.221.123] entered the room.

I also have a possible location on the fellow.

(19:22:25) bitpeter: I am in the old town of margate
(19:22:31) Azelphur: cool in the town center?
(19:22:41) bitpeter: yeah on the seafront
(19:22:47) Azelphur: nice
(19:22:48) bitpeter: i live above the westcoast bar
(19:22:56) bitpeter: if you knw where that is
(19:23:33) Azelphur: cool

Which puts him Here, the location also matches the GeoIP, so I think we have quite possibly found him Smiley

I was not given a name either, but asked for one and he replied with M Haywood.

I put "AlwaysMining" in the name field when making the payment.  Payment still presumably went through.

That's the same sort code and account number I was given.  I wasn't given any name at all.  Perhaps the name field isn't really used.

Question right now is what can we do about this? If he lives close then you can bet I am straight there to ask for my money.

That's why I wouldn't be too hasty to assume he's just run off with the l00t. Some kind of emergency may have intervened - it's been known to happen - though that does not adequately in itself explain how he's been online since without responding to PMs, if that indeed is the case.

Real scammers don't like disclosing their true identities in front of everyone's face, nor do most of them go out of their way to be sickeningly dishonest for a lousy 700 quid (but no doubt there are those that would!).

Just my 20.000 satoshi or so worth, though.

Since I'm not one of his aggrieved clients (he didn't shaft me), I won't be the one sending around the hit squad. Grin

Thats the details he gave me when i asked for a quote. So you guys seem to have the right ones i'd say. Strange about the different name on the same account. Second card holder or authorised person to use it maybe?

Hope he signs in and actually speaks to one of you this time. This is not something that should be taken lightly. Money is moeny at the end of the day. We all work hard for our pitiful salaries and for some stokebag to swoop in and steal some of it is just not on, phone a LEO.

He needs a good kick up the arse!

EDIT: Just a thought here i'm having.

He offererd loan services....correct? Could we track down one of his loans and just have the person who owes money for it pay it out to some of you guys who were scammed?

Obviously a long shot as i doubt he would have forgotten to collect on a loan if he was going blackbeard on you :s

I made at least two successful trades with Alwaysmining to the tune of BTC7,50 and the turnaround was fast. I know that ultimately, that's not absolute proof of anything, really.
Clearly :-)

fact is i suspect most would rather take the loss than talk to the police about this account
