So tons of altcoins have been pumped recently, then a drop came and now we are somewhere in the middle not knowing what's coming next.. do whales still need to cash out and they're just prolonging this? Doesn't look too good to me honestly. I suspect a bigger drop might follow somewhere in the near future... but who knows, everything is possible in this strange crypto world!
The bigger drop will come as soon as possible, but we will see the next pump of another coin in the future. The whales just try to make FOMO and more people are try to buy the coin. So the whales can dump it everytime.

The market is not what it used to be. I think people here are looking at it from a standpoint of a a year or two ago where just a few people traded crypto now all kinds of new money is going into crypto, wall street people, gold bugs, even girls I know who didn't or where interested in what a bitcoin was until recently.

Yes, the market has seen an immense grows but the entire volume is still tiny compared to the stock market, some companies are worth more than the entire crypto market. And the prices for bitcoin and altcoins do not represent their worth of today but are an investment into a future which might unfold.

And it looks like there won't be the ONE crypto in the future but many. Of course, a lot of them will go up but will also go down as fast.

Spot on.

And recently sources like Bloomberg are talking about the gains of Altcoins. Not surprised if readers are then immediately searching how to buy in.

Nope you're not the only one who thinks the markets for altcoins are behaving strange recently especially when bitcoin suddenly pumped. The cryptoworld is still strange because you can never fortell anything of what comes next, it may have pumped now but we'll never know it'll suddenly dump hard. That is also the reason why we traders should not stop learning and educate more especially on reading charts too.

I think it's related to BTC holders being unsure about BTC's future with everything that's going to happen later this year. There's a lot of money floating around from people testing the altcoin waters. I think we'll see it continue until all the big BTC changes later this year. Then it'll be sink or swim time. Either all the BTC holders will return to BTC and the altcoin market will calm down, or there will be a mass exodus and even more money will start flowing into the altcoin market.

Yes indeed, something feel fishy, suddenly all of the price of alt coins is keep on rising without any clear background, I know there are a lot of investors enthusiastic in investing alt coins but the rising is way too high, I think one day the bubbles will pop and there will be a huge falling

I think its less of a small few whales colluding to manipulate the markets, but more like a large many miners in mass exodus from bitcoin mining and to alt coin mining.

Just simply due to the profitability of bitcoin mining for small miners diminishing

All those miners moving to building diy rigs or buying altcoin asics are creating a large new wave of mining hash power to the alt coin scene. Then, since there are so many altcoins and many rigs can mine more than one type, and each rig is switching between the coins for prime profitability there is a turbulent sea of new hashing.

There is almost certainly whale pumping also in the scene, but i do think the stagnation in btc mining is leading to more virility in the alt coin sea-scape.

I don't really believe in some conspiracy that "a few whales" are talking in secret and deciding when to pump or dump.
Seems like a way the brain fills gaps where there is a lack of knowledge. Making some explanation like that. While in reality there are so many variables that can lead to price rising or lowering, it may be impossible for a normal person like us to really judge why things are happening.

Bisq is a Bitcoin Fiat Dex. Use responsibly
Lool Altcoin market is weird indeed. Wouldn't be surprised if every single rich person on this planet is involved in this game too. They could be the ones doing the "Pump and Dump" thing. 2017 is the the best year for Altcoin.

Yes, I notice they are behaving strange too. It's like we can't decide if we will have another round of pumpseason, or if bear season will start. Or no we start pumping again. No, it's bear season. Or is it?

Have no idea but these prices seem suspect to me Smiley

markets have entered a new paradigm, nobody polices them. Beforehand, users of alts unofficially policed developers and markets. Now it is more wild west.

I personally think the grow is too fast, so i think this is a crypto bubble overall. Or maybe people have got into bitcoin and now are experimenting with alts, because they have so much more in features than bitcoin does.

I doubt ordinary people buy every non-sense altcoin Smiley Yeah they might buy a few but not like this...
