perhaps the potatoes are throttling due to poor air flow? try better cable management and a few delta 5000 rpm fans (be sure to strap the potatoes down 1st).

I don't have the report with me, but I believe it is actually cheaper to replace the potatoes after a day or two of mining. It really depends of the quality of the potato. When using high quality potatoes, the cost of the fans and extra electricity to run them could be justified. This is probably what most people would want to do as the price of cheaper potatoes is not that different from the high quality product. But, if you are like me and have a good supplier who can get you a good deal on bulk low grade product, it isn't really worth it.

has anyone tried them mashed yet. maybe its surface area that determines hash rate.

Q_R_V has tried baked potatoes and the results appear to be not that great. I'm not sure if mashed would be all that great, but I suppose you could try mashing raw potatoes.

This is my rig:
I get about 350Mh/s per potato

Nice results, i was able get only 320Mh/s per potato, tried with a baked potatoes but hashrate was even lower.
On the other hand, your cable management is terrible! You need to work on it Wink

I suppose with enough potatoes one could (theoretically) power a small rig for a brief period of time. Wink

One potato, two potato, three potato, more...

Yea, I know. It (cables everywhere) was an unexpected win. I ended up twisting the wires around each other even more and got another 3.5Mh/s per potato.

That's not real, she leaves lying.

Research that image and the original is a RX480

@BALTA00

Have a close look at his screenshot (and no, he is not the owner). What date is that rig mining on?

Q: Was the RX470 released by then?
A:
No

Q: Is it more likely the RX480 without any bios mods?
A:
Probably yes

Ive had my 370 at 2000 MHz Memclock and didnt get more than 17 mhs out of it. Ramping up the coreclock didnt had any effect.
1800 for the core looks very optimistic.

So if that is true, than memory timings have been changed as well. But unlikely +10 mhs.

Those screenshoots are over 2 months old. Is that card yours and is it still working?
