I always doubt when they say they "gonna do smth" instead of actually doing it. is it happens - cool. If not - why the hell did you say that then?

i take it this recent pump in price was as a result of the Amazon news or unconfirmed news for the sake of market recovery i hope this will turned out to be true and not some rumor flying around  Grin, it is long overdue, Amazon should already be thinking towards accepting btc as part of payment option, they have nothing to loss rather to gain instead.

Can be of interest:

Amazon is looking to accept Bitcoin payments ‘by the end of the year’, and is investigating its own token for 2022, says an insider:

I can't really tell if this news is great if it's true. We all know the personalities behind the big companies such as Amazon. It'sjust a little bit suspiscious to know that suddenly, these giants are interested about cryptocurrency. I can't help but to think that there is some hidden agenda in their plan to enter the world of cryptocurrency. Although I really do hope my gut feeling is wrong.

Nonetheless, if ever this will really happen regardless they have evil intentions, it will still benefit the cryptocurrency community because a big investor will enter. Surely, the market will be affected in a nice way. Growth and price value may happen. I just really hope Bezos won't be another Elon in the making.

Amazon to create their own Crypto tokens? well that is already expected because Amazon is always hesitant in trusting bitcoin so if ever they will surely enter this market they will provide their own.

I would love if amazon opened up to more of the world now,,, at the moment if you are from certain countries you will not get it available to you. Accepting Bitcoin means nothing if they do not open up the restrictions. Same if they have Amazon coin,,, what is the use if you cannot even access the service?

This reminds me what happened with paypal because before they added bitcoin to their wallet functionalities 6 months prior we had a few rumors around it. I'm not saying it's the same with amazon but seeing how the market reacted that must be some small truth behind the news.
the market will react just because of the rumors it does not mean that they know what is going on inside of Amazon.

Until the official announcement, I advise caution, the market has obviously reacted strongly - but the trend can be reversed very quickly if the news is officially denied by Amazon.

Oh crap, my perfect week start has just been ruined!
Please tell me the jump is not because of those rumors and the news and the pump are not timed, I never trusted "insiders" and especially when it comes to Amazon, we've been hearing those for the last 2-3 years constantly, enough to make everyone suspicious of clickbait invented articles.

That aside, why is everyone still talking about Bezos? He retired! Cheesy

This would be huge if it were true and set new records for the price of Bitcoin.

It should be emphasized that these are just rumors, nothing has been officially announced yet. In addition, it should not be forgotten that the option to pay in BTC does not automatically mean that people will use it en masse, because most still see cryptocurrencies as a store of value, or a long-term investment. Plus, even if the news is true - Amazon obviously doesn’t consider BTC a good enough solution given that it’s working on creating its own token.

It's amazing that you could buy groceries and other things that are not possible now that amazon are selling of course people would use it I would use it.

I just saw this yesterday before I sleep and I expect for Bitcoin to rise hours after this was published online.
I thought also that I dreamt of Bitcoin surging too just because of one news. Kinda weird but its true Tongue.

Well it really happened as Amazon is "looking" to accept Bitcoin payments. Remember the word "looking" meaning they are just eyeing it for now still no intentions of adding it whatsoever. Either way, the market reacted positively with this news and Bitcoin rises near $40,000 (sadly it didn't pass went through that price). On the other hand though, Bezos is like Musk too. A businessman and he might do what Elon Sh*t did months ago. Releasing some good crypto related news and then will release some bad ones in the future. Either way, I don't trust this businessmen at all. Add crypto in their system if they really want to support it. As for me, I'm just happy that I converted some of my Bitcoins and got some good short term profits today.

Good news to see Bezos is going to accept Bitcoin and people can buy stuff from Amazon without using any third-party person as a proxy exchanger. However, I won't forget that we have the same story for Tesla, they accepted bitcoin payments, and the price was rising and then they stopped supporting bitcoin payments to fall down the price and that's how many newbies lost their money. We should pay attention to what happened before and avoid making the same mistake again. However, again I would say, soon, all the power companies will do the same thing.

Apple is one of the largest cash-holding companies in the United States. With over $195.57 billion in its coffers, a $2.5 billion investment in bitcoin would represent a 1.28% allocation.
The biggest holders of Bitcoin microstrategy (105,085 BTC worth $3.3 billion), followed by Tesla (42,902BTC worth $1.3 billion).
If apple buys Bitcoin, it would be the second-biggest public holder. The firm would immediately gain market share and disrupt the industry, This would send even more users to 'Apple Exchange, and bitcoin's widescale acceptance might just become a reality. Apple’s install base is 1.5 billion, and even if we assume only 200 million users would transact, this is 6.66x larger than Square. Therefore, the potential revenue opportunity would be in excess of $40 billion a year (15% incremental top-line opportunity).

I think big business is figuring out that if they support Bitcoin, then Bitcoiners might suddenly have a lot of money to spend on their products. What businesses would take in more money from Bitcoiners having a ton of extra money suddenly than Amazon and Tesla? Not to mention once Elon got billions in Bitcoin, Bezos couldn’t risk being left behind. It’s really only a matter of time before all billionaires and tech companies put BTC on their balance sheet as so not to lose a competitive edge.

Many users had already speculated Amazon to accept Bitcoin in the past. The possibility is there because of the ad they posted. What could the reason be for looking for a blockchain developer. But Amazon to develop their own token is also possible. Amazon is a big business and if they want full control of the finances and survey the users in their database, it's having their own token will probably be a priority.

Its One of the Top news after Elon Show.
One more Big News and we will see full Bulish trend.
It's possible now that Bitcoin be in the 60s or 70ish. While we wait for the bull run to begin, it's best to acquire additional BTC and altcoins that you believe will moon. For myself, I purchased a large number of cryptocurrencies like as ETH, BLOCK, AGI, and others that I believe have the potential for long-term development and stability. It's a waiting game for us, and if we don't sell, we won't lose anything.

I don't trust anything that big tech, Bezos or Amazon are saying, and they always have some hidden motives behind everything they do.
They hired some blockchain people few months ago, and there are some rumors they are working on creating their own token to be used instead of Bitcoin.
You can imagine that they will control supply and everything else related with potential amazon token including some kyc verification, and for Bitcoin they can always have some stupid excuse like high fees, etc.

After the setback we received from Elon Musk, I don't really trust these people. They just want to maximize their profits. And for that purpose, Bitcoin is not very suitable. Elon is now planning to roll out his own shitcoin with a near 90% premine, and this may be the same route used by Amazon as well. These guys benefit more from a cryptocurrency which they can control and manipulate, when compared to the case with Bitcoin which can never be controlled by a single central entity. Anyway, for now, let's enjoy the market rally.

Another source: Amazon won't stop with Bitcoin. After integrating the biggest cryptocurrency, they will add Ethereum, Cardano

In addition to accepting Bitcoin payments, Amazon is reportedly exploring the creation of its own cryptocurrency, possibly released in 2022.

If true AND if they do it themselves instead of through Coinbase Commerce or the like its going to be a fascinating look into how BTC can really integrate.
Will they hold or just sell as it comes in?
Will they sell it to the best fiat at the time or in the local one where it was used?

Could be really interesting in terms of how it's done if they really do it.
