i've posted the link to Jeff Bezos petition from change here but it seemed like people around here weren't interested enough in it for some reason!
hope this petition ends up having some effect at least.

That is the greatest challenge that we must overcome. The management of Amazon was somehow negative on using bitcoins and it was the observed trend over the past years. But we will wait and see if they will make some positive moves and finally accept bitcoins as mode of payment in their site.

Other sites have already started to study bitcoin and will be adding it to the mode of payments, and if Amazon will experience a downfall in sales then maybe they will also be forced to accept bitcoin. It is a sad thing for Amazon if they will not integrate bitcoin into their system since it will make a negative impact on their sales on the near future.

amazon report everything to fiscal agent, and with bitcoin would be a problem to track everything, do they even know how the blockchain work?
for now you cna use purse.io to buy on amazon or all4btc, both work good, just a bit slow
This will be a major concern for a big store like amazon as they have to abide by the rules and regulations of the country and if bitcoin is not regulated in that country it will be difficult for them to accept it,amazon being the leader in things related to technology i do think they have their engineers trying to figure out to tame the blockchain and take advantage of it.

I really find it hard to think amazon to accept bitcoin and litecoin as a mode of payment pretty soon, there are certain limitations to be sorted out,the delays are quite significant and the volatility means that they will be having a big loss if the market goes down, there are several factors to take into consideration if they have to accept crytpo currency and none is favoring that for now.

tough call, because amazon currently don't even accept paypal, they ahve their own policy, and they like to have a regulated payment method, and sadly bitcoin isn't the case for now, at least not in all country accepted by amazon

also amazon report everything to fiscal agent, and with bitcoin would be a problem to track everything, do they even know how the blockchain work?

Do petitions matter to these big private companies?
Of course it is matter, big companies need a lot of customers, if Amazon is going to accept crypto currencies then it can increase their selling, it will be good for bitcoin and for Amazon, as customer we are easier to do transaction with bitcoin, hopefully Amazon will accept bitcoin, but Amazon supposed to be thinking about this, if Amazon doesn't follow the latest trend then one day it can be left behind

Well, it is about time Amazon accepted Bitcoin. Such petitions have been put forward many times in the past. I don't see how this is going to be any different. I have grown numb to such petitions. At the moment I use this website for my online purchases: https://purse.io/

It offers 5% to, at times, 20% of everything on Amazon when you use Bitcoin to check out. I still do not understand how they make any profit. The only plausible result for the organisation would be a loss. It is a great work that they are doing in promoting Bitcoin. But, it is necessary for mega-sites like eBay and Amazon to accept Bitcoin as a standard form of payment. It would be a huge boost for Bitcoin.

I also wait these time that amazon accept bitcoin because I have many things to buy in amazon like mining reg hardware, I hope that these will not be long! I thing the petition will go for further analysis and research so it take time for amazon to open these bitcoin payment.

A lot of people says Amazon would not accept Bitcoin because of some particular reasons. Amazon needs to think twice in accepting Bitcoin especially now that the price is increasing and really has a bright future ahead. The Bitcoin they hold today would be greater and more valuable in the future. Early birds surely will gain benefits and edge.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/petition-requests-for-jeff-bezos-and-amazon-to-accept-bitcoin-and-litecoin-as-payments

Many bitcoin holders/shoppers are on the look-out for the result of the petition towards Amazon to accept bitcoin and litecoin in their mode of payments. A customer had forward a petition to the CEO itself in the person of  CEO Jeff Bezos containing the request.

But we still do not have the result and positive feedback coming from Amazon. Possibly the petition was junked and was retaliated by the company.

I don't think they would accept bitcoins right now. Maybe in the future. The current problem with bitcoins are that it is currently slow (when you have low fees), expensive (because of fees), volatile (as fuck, which is not ideal for any business even with the possibility of price appreciation), and there are not that much users.

I think Amazon is waiting for something that is why they are not accepting it yet. Either way, we just need to wait for their feedback.

BitCoin will rock Mount Everest if that happens, and LTC will definitely become the second big crypto and certainly will compete bitcoin at coinmarketcap because its transactions could be faster and cheaper.
Lets see the outcome of the petition, but sooner or later, I think one of the crypt currencies are gonna made it to these giant eCommerce portals.

I read somewhere that Amazon is looking to create its own crypto, someone have heard anything about this?

Signed the petition, but I do not think Amazon would be adding cryptocurrencies as a payment option soon.

1. Volatility.
2. Lack of users.
3. Legality. If more countries start legalising bitcoin then Amazon might start accepting it.
4. Amazon coins.

Quote
Amazon Coin is a digital payment method created by Amazon.com. Currently, the coins can only be used to purchase software for Kindle, Kindle Fire, and Android devices from within an app or from the Amazon Appstore. Amazon has called Amazon Coins a "virtual currency". However, the Coins operate like other digital gift cards.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Coin

The functioning of Amazon Coin is similar to that of digital gift cards, but the concept is that of a digital currency so Amazon might consider bitcoin if the above three points change somewhat in the future, but for the time being I guess they are working on expanding their own digital currency.

If Amazon accepts bitcoin then it would be one of the best things to happen to bitcoin.

Thanks for the info!

They should give the sellers the option to accept Bitcoin as payment method, but for some reason they don't allow it... And if they don't allow it, it's not an online petition what will make them change their opinion.

Maybe they are against a currency which is hard to track, pseudo anonymous as Bitcoin is.

I agree with you. Definitely they should let the seller accept it, they could then ask their 'cut' in USD and the seller would be happy with his coins!

If bitcoin will be consistent on the things that we are already seeing in bitcoin then it is very possible for amazon to accept bitcoin, litecoin and any kind of good cryptocurrency to their market or website because the cryptocurrencies now are proving that they are not hyped money and they are real and it have a great goal in the future.

Last time I checked, amazon doesn't even accept PayPal.

Back when I was implementing bitcoin/litecoin payments for some companies, they all ended up having me remove it due to the volatility. They simply didn't like that they could accept a payment one day and later when they converted it to USD, they had lost money. Maybe some systems have improved from that aspect since then but that was the case at that point.

It seems odd if amazon do not want to adopt bitcoin and even other altcoin, in outline bitcoin is very useful for the progress of a country and even company.
Maybe amazon stuck negative news bitcoin and have not found a real positive impact.
Able to move their intention to adopt it. But once they know the amazing thing from bitcoin, there will be a furor over there and send a petition to receive it.

Maybe they do not want to add more manpower and technology from the existing one and maybe they are aware of the problem of very long time to confirm payment, but I;m also hoping that they do accept bitcoin and other crypto currency besides bitcoin, litecoin is also a good choice .

Now this is something that I am really going o get behind.

There are a lot of things from Amazon that I have been mulling about getting, and something like this would be great to be able to make use of to be completely honest.

I'll get around to signing it sometime, I've never really been a fan of change.org but this might convince me otherwise. I'll mull over it but the 1.6k supporters is pretty impressive to say the least. I'll make that a +1 sometime.
