My wallet matches this block but I think I went off the right chain after this block again.  Is there a way to tell if there are ad peer nodes out there and then a way to block then from connecting to a wallet to prevent good wallets from going off to the wrong fork?

There is definitely a bad fork.  I am reloading my wallet DB for the 3rd time in the last 36 hours.

My wallet is at block 598334 and blockexperts is at 597851

http://amber.explorer.ssdpool.com:9146/ is at 593510

cryptopia is in maintenance.

I have no idea if my wallet is on the right fork or not now.

We need some nodes to connect to that are on the right chain AND WORK.  I have tried ambercoin01.mooo.com multiple times but I get 0 connections.

I have tried
connect=ambercoin01.mooo.com
addnode=[2001:0:5ef5:79fb:6:a75:af78:fd36]
addnode=[2001:0:9d38:6abd:3f:2ca2:93c2:5236]
addnode=[2001:0:9d38:6abd:89e:1ddb:b7d5:9b72]
addnode=[2001:0:9d38:6ab8:3844:32a7:b8c4:9761]
addnode=104.158.205.135
addnode=46.185.22.181

which was suggested by another poster but if I set listen=0 to ensure I only connect to those nodes I get no connections.  If I set listen=1 I can get a couple of connections not on the list above.  Their startingheight matches mine so I assume they are on the same fork as me but we all could be wrong!

What nodes work and are on the right chain?

...

My wallet has the same, with 35 connections.  Let's just hope that if there are two forks again, this is still the correct one.

...

maaaaan, how did you get like 35 connections  Shocked Shocked ...I'm sitting here on like 3-5... ok, behind a router AND a bridge... but 35 is a number...

the most hashrate atm indeed comes from zpool, that would add up to the current #rate and the wallet seems to be at around the same height.

but again with your 35 clients, how about you post a copy of your peerlist, cos even if most of em will change or go offline any time soon, this might help getting the network a bit tighter until it eventually stabilizes some time. and I've got a hunch I might not be the only one lacking peers atm Wink

C-Cex is the only one that's working right now.  They were the first to go into maintenance...came up on the wrong fork, went into maintenance again, then finally got everything right around 24 hours ago.

cryptsy went ok like 15h ago, too, however... it might or might not be ok as of now, I made a transaction half an hour ago, but that was within my network with all clients at same height... however I've still some few100 amber lying around on those pools (apart from crptopianz), but no good time to move them away, that might turn out to take a while... I prefer serenity over serendipity atm Cheesy

No block explorer seems to be good.  I am currently on block 598158 - I hope I am on the right chain?

however, the network consistency is still pretty weak but I'd say yes... at least that'd be the one with the larger network hashrate, @ height 598197 currently... a mere 400something Mhs

and I suspect aikapool again lost connection and shuffles away... the blockexperts BE also lags ~3h behind... meh Undecided

Did you try this...

Update:

While BlockExplorers are down to make sure that you are on a correct chain do the following:

1. Type "getblockbynumber 594177" command in console (Help->Debug->Console)

2. Find line "proofhash":
{
"proofhash" : "00000000215b5309e034ccf4a4b4091a0d874d52980b5cc867c554f7e7c4e1a9"
}

3. Make sure your hash of block No594177 is the same.

for everyone being here the first time after a while, this might be a first check, but that was yesterdays dish... I strongly fear we already are right in the thick with the next rift ...

Is there a way to get payouts from your pool in Amber?  (Mine Amber directly.)

it get's a bit lost in the first moment but it's actually pointed out on the frontpage (just remembered that the yaamp software used to have this feature):

Quote from: zpool
...
Non-BTC payouts depend on that coin being mined as your BTC balance is traded internally by our system to your currency of choice. If we have not or are not mining that currency your payouts will be delayed until the pool has mined the blocks for you to get paid. If you notice in the pools status that the currency is red, it means there is not sufficient amount of the currency to pay miner(s). It's recommended to use BTC.
Use -p "c=SYMBOL" if zpool does not recognize the currency correctly.
See the "Pool Status" area on the right for PORT numbers. Algorithms without associated coins are disabled.

so, no direct port to mine amber, just x13 (or multi or selected algos)... but payout in amber... I'd susspect this to be even more efficient than mining directly...

Yeah, I saw that, thx.  Thought I'd ask to make sure I wasn't missing a direct port.

I've been using SteakCloud as a multipool for my scrypt miners.  I just mine Amber though my video card when power is cheap for the fun of it.  I enjoy mining even if it's not always profitable, I've learned a lot from it.

That being said, looks like AMBER wallet is in maint on both yobit and bleutrade??

btw nice work, the new zpool, will certainly take a ride in near future Smiley
xpool certainly belongs to the multipools (and zpool I suppose soon will) most dreaded by the profit searching solo miner Cheesy, as they both seem to be not only very well cared for but also thoroughly optimized and tuned for maximimum profit. however, stricly speaking I can only share this experience for xpool, 'cos zpool's quite too new, but I've got that certain notion...
should be another nice contributionl to ambercoin market capacity and demand

Thanks. You're right. No direct port for it but you can get paid in AMBER so long as it's being mined. So depending on the mining activity it will work, but just have ti keep in mind the amber we pay is what we mine.
