Anyone have annoying overscan issues?  I use XBMC on my HTPC with a 6950.  When I stop mining to watch something all videos are using the wrong overscan, turning my 60ich into a 55inch.  But windows and XBMC Gui are unnafected.

justa bit of advice for the 11.6 linux drivers, couldn't detect my 3rd 6990 and hash rates for 2 x 6990 was slower... went back to 11.5 and detects all 3 cards and correct hash rate..

Well I'm about to upgrade the driver on one of my miners, purely because OpenCL decided to stop working and now no miner can detect the card...wtf?

I normally watch films and play games while mining

How? system spec? Are you using only one card?
I can do gaming/mining/video on my Nvidia card, but ATI = instant crash.

he's got a single 5770, not a 6 series.

i was stumped forever figuring out why i could open gpu-z while mining with my old 4870 but doing the same with 6970 resulted in a lockup.

I'll try, but this applies to any video and not just flash-based youtube ones.

6990 still crashes whenever any hint of video is detected when mining.
If by "video" you mean "YouTube videos", just deactivate hardware acceleration in Flash Player options.

Do like this:
* Go to any site that has Flash objects;
* Right-click on a Flash object;
* Click on Settings; and
* Uncheck Enable hardware acceleration.

It solved my problem.

asus xfire mobo cannot remember its model
amd AM3 quad core 3.2
8 gig ddr3
HD 5770 running at 950mhz

whenever I game all I change is -f 0  to -f 120 and loose around 10-20mhash

adding another card within the next week just being lazy plan to stick 3 cards in this system. then might fill up the other computer as well just want to see what the market does over the next few days. if Bitcoins go up buy cards if they go down buy bitcoins. as another 8 to 20 shift would be nice.

I'm willing to bet it doesn't fix the openCL crashing issue with video playback issue either.

Did you read the other thread?

The question stands, does 11.6 fix this?

I can confirm this issue has been fixed Smiley

Open cl "might" , but starting any directx games or watching a video (WMPC & WMP tested) still results in a complete computer crash.

Probably common knowledge, but in case someone missed it, you can disable hardware acceleration for flash and be able to watch flash videos while mining.  Right-click the flash, go to settings, disable hardware acceleration, then restart your browser.  Doesn't fix standalone videos, but at least flash videos are ok.

Although I got slight increase of hashrate on one of the rigs (2x5970, under 1.5% increase) using them with phoenix miner, I got countless troubles on the other mining rigs, including inability to recover the machines without using system restore (Windows 7 x64). I'm very disappointed for wasting half of the last night on troubleshooting and at the end I only have one rig running Catalyst 11.6. All my cards are HD5000 series.

Already a thread on this here:  http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=17520.0

Little to no improvement and actually a minor drop in some cases.

Release notes:
http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst116ReleaseNotes.aspx

Doesn't state anything relating to the Stream SDK but will be interesting to see if it has any effect on mining.  I'm not going to be testing just yet but may do in the next couple of days...

If anyone does upgrade, please post results!

Cheers  Grin
