This makes a mining version of a rdna (5700/xt) a bit more interesting

As always, I was right when I said rx 6800 xt would be a little better than the rx 5700 for mining. I hope whoever said 150 mh/s on eth deserves its head decapitated, I do understand hype but beyond the hype itself x reality, it surely deserves a punishment, don't ever trust any chinese forums, trust science and math.

I guess now people are once again happy with their rx 5700 ehhe, I guess many idiots sold their 5700 in order to buy the new amd ones.

I guess amd got it right this time, finally a gaming gpu that miners dont want to mess with eheh, stock will be abundant ehhe, gamers won't complain ehhe, 3080 still the best choice for mining on high density, nothing better, even the 3080ti will not be any better than 3080 aside from the 20gb of gddrx6 but the price tag of $999 will be just too much.

wait for it, after miner devoloper optimization rx6800xt will hit 100-120mhs easy, we still dont know how new cache will effect mining. dont pay attantion that 256bits it says it works like 512bits, so wait and we see. Remember when 1st 5700 came out, they were doing 3mhs.
After amd and nvida earns good money then profit will drop then maybe then i can afford buy some cards.

Video was recently released showing RX 6800 XT mining ETH @ ~65 MH/s when overclocked.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o---4uec1X4&ab_channel=DizzyMining

So 170watts at the system level to pull in an extra 10MH/s over a 5700XT that can do the same with 100-110watts. Looks like the miners are going to need some tweaking to get anywhere near 70MH without melting the memory. No stock on Amazon and Microcenter had low amounts so meh thus far.

it was running at 880mV and there was only a small overclock on the memory. 70MH @ 150w might be achievable

Oh, this is good, I expected a little more, like 75Mhs with OC, but 65Mhs right now, and with some tweaks, new models of cards and brands, miner program's updates, I believe 6800xt can achieve 70Mhs in near future
And I said it's good because at this point, a 100mhs card more efficient than previous navis would crash (even more) the GPUs market, at least people won't rush to buy to mine, and gamers will have opportunity to buy
AMD 5700's still looking good and efficient, I was waiting to make a decision and to me, it's better to buy 5600 or 5700 right now, because it's available in my country and no need to wait weeks

It is  easy to calculate ETHASH  power  ow Radeon 6800XT  , it is  close  to  2x 5700XT   =  103 to 115 MH/s

can you explain pls how you come to this number  Shocked

It's about as accurate as his/her last post which was guessing ETH would be $9900 at the end of June in 2019. By core count and memory used it looks like it will only be in the 60MH/s. It seems AMD has made significant improvements in efficiency of the architecture so performance per watt in gaming should go up quite a bit. Perhaps it will do the 60 or so MH with the same power draw as the 5700XT which would be about a 20% improvement.

They announced their computer cards today so I expect those to be the real dagger hashimoto winners.

everytime before amd sell new vga card have many rumor about ETH hashrate everyone so hype.

when vga release to sell hashrate not same as rumor.
In any case, the video card manufacturer will fulfill the specified goal - sell the card and make a profit. This was also the case with the release of the 30*0 series of NVIDIA, and it will be the same with the release of 6*00 AMD. In any case, the hashrate will be higher than the previous generation.

Hey folks, don't we have any real numbers from a testing?
I guess if the "unboxing" is out we should have some hashrates as well?

I expect them to hash around 63-65 MHs at stock memory frequencies.
no way )) only with oc and timings ))

Yeah optimized hashrate would be around that.  maybe a little higher depending on how far the gddr6 could be overclocked

more than likely a proportionately higher MH than the 5700/xt based on price point, not necessarily linearly, but close (with optimization). The question isnt so much will it be good at mining, but how good. even with a linear increase in MH/$, if there is even  a 10-15% increase in efficiency, it will be out of stock for many months

what price has to do with mining speed  Grin Huh Roll Eyes

Now the money is free, and so the people will be
I say 56-57mhs stock and yeah 63-65 optimized
All for 579$usd lol, but what the power consumption going to be vs 5700xt
