The conference is coming up in a couple of weeks. It's important people realize how he has been scamming people. All the relevant details are in the various threads referenced in this thread.

But to sum up:

-Mines with hardware before shipping it (every machine shipped months late had a unique configuration and a nice layer of dust)
-Ships without parts (PSUs or other needed parts and then neglects all support blaming the user)
-Insults or intimidates or attempts to intimidate people who speak out against Joshua Zipkin and AMT
-Is currently living in Bulgaria, but operating a shell office in PA to appear like a US business.
-While publicly claims to provide refunds, has stated in a group chat (search leak AMT chat in google or forum) that he does not intend to in various ways ("fuck the MPP" (miner protection program) and other excuses to avoid refunding)
-Claims there is no money but is giving talks and making trips to conferences worldwide
-Proclaims varying deals with large vendors in Korea (hi-mart basically Korean walmart), and brags about petahash farm deals in various locations bulgaria, NY and iceland.
-Sent some people $800USD miners for every $6,000USD paid.  Refuses to pay back or compensate difference.

Should also note the hardware he sells tends to be missing stuff. Power supplies and such that are advertised to come with the systems sold. Also note, that support is next to non-existent. Read the various AMT threads in the Hardware subform to get a good idea of how bad it can get. This is a vendor to avoid with extreme caution. Joshua Zipkin aka AMT_Miners should be avoided.

For anyone with issues and who felt they have been defrauded by Joshua Zipkin please send me a PM with the details of your situation (no personal information required) just the order number and the amount. If you have been in other ways defrauded or somehow illegally acted upon by him feel free to also put that information in the PM. I will reply with the information you will require to make sure action can be taken. If you are international, this matter can still apply you as well.

FYI Josh has decided to retaliate against me, by illegally posting my personal information online for all to see. Considering all I did was confirm HIS words, and then post some more that he said, he does not enjoy the truth of the matter getting out there. He also claimed I was a high level (which means classified) government employee which not only potentially puts my family in severe danger (as most high level govt employees have their own security), but it is patently false.

I will be addressing this matter and working with prosecutors and whoever else to make sure this matter gets dealt with to the fullest extent of the law. His wire fraud among other crimes will be addressed in this as well. If anyone going to the Vegas show is lucky they will see him get cuffed as he apparently is currently in Bulgaria. Altho chances are he will get detained at the airport, OR not show up at all. I suppose we will see how this plays out.  You picked the wrong bear to poke Joshua Zipkin as I know you read everything I am posting. I really don't take kindly to threats. And there is a system in place to handle people like you Joshua Zipkin aka AMT_Miners. This is me making use of it.

FYI look out for sock puppet accounts. Paul.Augustine is one of Josh's latest sock puppets. Read and judge for yourself if you think this is not a sock puppet account. Fact is our efforts are working against him in exposing him that he must resort to these deceptive practices, hence the need to create these sock puppets to create false numbers against those who detract from his scam.

FYI Paul Augustine is his real estate agent. "Paul" went silent after that statement. I don't think the real Paul Augustine In Horsham, PA would appreciate his name being used in this manner. Wink

I did contact inside bitcoin, and let them know. I am also sure they saw this thread with almost 600 hits Smiley

Most of us Paid $6,000 for miner, but what they sent was a $900 no name dragon type miner. And in my case being on the "naughty list" (because I filed complaints with FTC etc.) mine was send with no power supply. They send me a power supply seperately, but I refuse to build the miner myself.

This is a clear case of federal wire fraud in my opinion, they advertised one thing costing $6,000 and send some random hardware worth a few hundred.

The second case of wire fraud in my opinion is with the MPP, they clearly advertised it to get pre-orders, however when customers brought it up AMT said things like "Screw the MPP" and "We cant do the MPP anymore". Well they collected millions of dollars, and then they just don't deliver what they advertised. It seems pretty clear to me.

Right, there are a number of illegal elements to this. No trade conference should be allowing them to participate with all this handing over their heads. It makes the conference look unreputable as well. Basically encouraging this kind of behavior. Fact that BFL is also on there as well is a huge flag considering that they even have a convicted felon on wire fraud as part of their company. These conferences do themselves no favors letting people like this into their floors as exhibitors or sponsors.

I am going to try to contact the hotel management to warn them about this company with an active lawsuit against them. Probably not someone you want in your hotel.

Hotel won't care. It's the hosting conference you need to contact.

Refer to https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/scam-amt-confirmed-amt-scammer-joshua-zipkin-call-to-action-759543 I was one of the participants in the chats. I used to be one of his biggest supporters. I tried to give them the benefit if the doubt, but was also as equally taken. But after repeated attempts to try to get him to compensate his customers back, well it was evident his intentions, were to just get out of the lawsuit and screw everyone. Even those of us helping him were taken for a ride. One of the non-customers opted to leak this information as he was fed up. I just decided to out him in all this and confirm it since Joshua Zipkin claimed it was all made up and fabricated. I had enough of his crap.

They told me if I don't stop posting, I would not get a refund.

Do you have proof of this?  That's extortion and completely separate from everything else.  I'd go back to the local PD with proof on that one.  Poof!  Refund!

I don't think the CIA usually investigates this type of allegations.

When you buy any miner the cost of the parts will always be much less then the price you pay, as most of the cost of the miners are from research and development. It is very expensive to develop the technology to mine in a cost (electric) effective way.

You didn't post if the miner met the specs promised to you. Does it have the hashrate/power consumption that was promised to you? If it does then you have zero claim on them.

Except they have or HAD a miner protection program. The promise was (which by law those customers are entitled to now even if going forward new ones are not) that if you do not ROI in 6 months, we get an upgrade to the next level model free at their expense. When this was claimed, they backed off. As it was a defining feature of selling their product, its a slap in the face and blatant bait and switch tactics. This does indeed allow us a very legal claim. The hardware was also delivered more than 6 months late for most, which results in a direct depreciation value AND lost income as a result. FTC regulations are clear on these points. Additionally, they took the preorders and any and just about all claims for refunds were denied. THen they turned around and shipped machines only because of a pending court case. The saga is well documented in various AMT related threads in the hardware section and summed up in the leaked chats in this forum section.

Excessive use of large font, bold, and colors makes the post a pain in the @$$ to read.  Didn't get past the first sentence.  I have no idea if you have anything useful or interesting to say.

I've had luck in the past using local PD when I got screwed on the Internet.  Demand a police report if there was a crime committed.  Good luck, and keep the news coming!

Also, let's stop sending money to these preorder companies, shall we?

edit:  Rereading my post, I'd like to clarify that I praise you for going to local PD, I'm not suggesting that you do that...as you clearly already have.
