You guys have a point, this proposed logo was offered by one of our devs! Its not bad, but its not good at the same time! It does represent the core, the N and the color which associates with bitcoin! But i know that there are better designers than us and we would like to offer them a chance.
We will include the current logo in the contest! Lets see who can offer a better solution!

The N symbol in logo is OK, but logo as whole doesnt make me feel anything, It could be more impressive.

Probably yes, there is depends on how much memory will occupy launch NXTL
Node.Js does not use a lot of RAM
256 MB is sufficient amount of RAM to run Node.js (e.g. on Linux VPS instance), assuming no other memory-hog software is run. Node has --max-stack-size argument for limiting the memory usage.
Well, then there should be no problems with running on Raspberry Pi

For me it sounds like: "your code doesn't impress me, let's start a poll and designers will post their sources and the community will decide what code will be released". But since there's no better way and everybody want to show up their design skills so badly let's at least put original logo in the poll.

Do you feel a lot the you see Apple, Microsoft, Intel logos? And in case you feel something does it because logo shapes or because of what they represent? It's a logo, man, not an opportunity to express yourself. It should be simple and recognizable, exactly like current logo. If you can draw the it with your hand and recognize a logo in it - it means a lot.
Dont take it to heart so much. Im not sayin that we should scrap it. What is problem with having some versions of it. We can just update it, make it a little bit more interesting, develop it a bit more. It doesnt look pro right now and average Joe likes eye-cathing things.

There should be a reason for such things. If someone makes changes just for changes he always gets some bs. There're tons of examples with such mistakes made by big brands. And Nxtl devs are about to make one. Look at eXo, they've got a shitty logo made just for an ANN thread, so they do need a new logo. On the contrary Nxtl had crappy logo in threads 1-3. Then someone made a great logo. We can change a logo every months, but what's the reason to do so.
I admit that there's nothing wrong with trying something new. At least it's for free, right? That's why I suggested to put original logo in the poll.
P.S. I can't not to take it to heart so much, because I work in this field and when I see programmers, managers, clerks, auto mechanics and other people with design ambitions it makes me mad. Especially when they are about to trash something great and put some crap instead.

Should have the name-contest first. If the name is chanced to "Whatevercoin" better lettersymbol in the coin would be "W". 
Or maybe not having a letter in the logo at all ? There is so many letters in different coin logos allready. maybe someone can come up with something more unique than a letter ??

You must be kidding... The logo is awesome. It's like Quark coin logo contest which happened a while ago. They had a great logo and then started that contest with tens of shitty logos. Finally they were smart enough to pick a logo which copied original one almost 100%.
