When people don't take your kindness seriously, halting it can be the best option. The problem is critical, and the man still persists on using his personal account to receive the money from a stranger, who is willing to help. If he was in need of the help, forwarding his wife's account number wouldn't have been a hassle to him. Maybe he has other intentions for the money, and the man, the helper, may have experienced similar things in his philanthropic journey. The man, whom his wife is sick, wasn't tagged a gambler, it's safe to say that the philanthropist, has sent money to people who didn't utilize properly in solving their problems. Addicted gamblers can go extra miles to convince others to give them money. Everyone is working hard to stay ahead of trouble or being the reason to someone else's hardship. Imagine being the reason why an addict went back to continue gambling after losing out on all his money. The man in need, acted suspiciously that was why he ran away.
As much as I like to follow the sage's wisdom of being kind no matter what happens, there should be a limit to the kindness that you're giving to a person that has a problem and that they're abusing your kindness to fuel what addiction they have, it's not logical or wise at that point to ever help someone if the help that you're giving to them isn't appreciated and only furthers their addiction. The wrong thing that the philanthropist did here is not that he helped but that he didn't put in a bit more effort into follow up and being stern about the help and that it should went to where it should went. Totally agree on that extra miles though, that's what addiction does to you, you try your best to find ways to enable and maintain/sustain your addictions, that's why they get desperate and lead to do a life of crime because they're losing all the options on how to suffice that addiction.

Every gambler must of course carry out full supervision of themselves and if they gamble continuously of course they will become addicted to gambling and to be able to get rid of addiction to gambling of course we have to make these rules and have to obey them, because if we cannot get rid of the addiction By gambling, we will have bigger problems in our lives.

If we are sure that we will be able to get rid of the gambling addiction, it would be better if we don't repeat it again, which will cause us to suffer huge losses in terms of our finances and it is possible that we will experience worse things than that if we are still gambling addicts.

Your comments emphasize key principles for tackling and conquering gambling addiction. Being aware of oneself and monitoring one's actions are vital in identifying problematic gambling behavior and working towards a solution.

Tho I know tackling gambling addiction is hard but it is still achievable in my opinion.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!

I knew a son who drunken for the funeral of his father that's the most cruel thing that I ever watched but never know how is it possible for someone to gamble with the money that is offered as charity for your loved ones treatment.

It is very possible to use charity money for gambling just like someone will use up money kept in his custody and start to give excuse on it or reason while some won't give any reason for their action but will disappear into tin air, so it is very possible my friend.

The cause of such leading to gambling with charity money or money meant for someone's health bill is addiction. Gamblers that are addicted have inching fingers to use up any money with them especially when they are losing. In fact, being in debt has been a phenomenal known with addict gamblers and people tend to avoid keeping money in their custody. This is a realistic findings that has been attached to addict gamblers, so it won't be a ruse if money for health bill is used to gamble because at such point, they are only thinking of profiting to replace the money but unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.

I didn't encounter anyone who did that personally but via media heard such kind of news but we never knew the complete story of it so I don't make any comment regarding that but if that what really happened then I consider it's most inhumane thing to do by someone and there is no forgiveness for such individuals who commits such mistakes even though they really know what is the possible outcome.

Gambling addiction can affect anyone, regardless of age or background. It's a serious issue that can have negative impact on oneself, love ones, or even the ability to help their sick spouse. It's very important to recognize the signs and if you or someone you know is struggling with gambling addiction, give support and seek help.

he stranger offering aid had no prior acquaintance with the husband. Why then was there apprehension that the funds might fuel gambling rather than support the wife's medical needs?

This short story reflects the current reality we live in.
maybe because his wife already knew beforehand that her husband often gambled on gambling and when he needed money, he used the money he had to gamble in the hope of doubling the money he had to cover his desired needs.
for me, there are several categories for a gambling addict, between addicts who always depend or always hope that when they need money they will run to the casino to double their money and gambling addicts who continue to gamble without clarity as they only follow their dopamine lust.
well, from here we already know that it's not just addiction that looks bad but hoping or depending on gambling is very bad because it triggers a worse addiction when everything seems to fail, such as a gambling addict who needs money to pay for his wife's medical expenses but only have a small amount and use it for betting in the hope of winning big and being able to pay the hospital bill.

the reason many gambling addicts are men is because a man's responsibility is so great for his family, a man is required to continue to earn money to meet the family's needs so I am not surprised that most of the rates of insanity throughout the world are greatest among men. because it's all the pressure of responsibility.
and when a man has no way out to be more responsible in getting money they will get frustrated and run in an instant direction such as gambling to get money.

Gambling addiction has been a common problem in our society. It has caused many problems in a person's life, such as money losses, or issues with family and friends, etc. It's important to support and help people with gambling addiction to overcome it. We should all always be open and not afraid to ask help or give help they need and live better lives.
Yes. That's the thing that we should do and not that we fear them or hate them, as I believe they are only a victim here and it's not their intention to become an addict to gambling because we all know how hard it is right? And I'm sure no one in their right minds will want to become one.

We must also admit it that for once, we are also like this even if not in a severe way. We know how it feels and we might also seek help to the people around us but there are gambling addicts who are afraid of doing it. They are lucky if they manage to stand up on their own but some are still on their addiction phase and are only waiting for our support.

Today, I sat amongst a group of people and listened to them as they shared a story that indirectly reflects how terrible the spate of gambling addiction is. It became evident to me that this addiction transcends demographics such as age, marital status, ethnicity, and religious beliefs, but appears to be more prevalent among males.

In this group a person shared a story of how a married reached out to her for medical assistance to support his wife terminal illness treatment. Instead of providing his wife's account details as requested, he offered his own. Concerned that the funds might be misused, particularly for gambling, the person offering assistance insisted on the wife's account details. However, the conversation ended there, with no further response from the man.

On the time that  you are really that addicted with gambling on which it do comes into a severe manner then you would really be ending up on having these kind of possible actions that you would be making. It doesnt look good or ethical but those addicts would definitely be making out those kind of actions even if it means that they are pretending that there are some health emergencies or some sort which i cant really be able to bare with having that kind of reasoning just to make yourself being satisfied with your leisure needs. Trying out to fool someone about emergencies on which you do beleive
that you could be able to get some funding so easily? People would really be always be wise and skeptical when it comes to this manner.

Not to make those direct conclusions about people around but we do know that giving out some support into something legit and not really just that trying to fuel up someones addiction.
Verification is needed but if you are someone who do get easily fooled by those addicts then its your choice. You should really be always skeptical when someone reaches you
randomly.

I have seen so many cases that people do for money, that this Makes me remember that things are very drastic, in a viral video, I saw that a Person got on a bus to ask for money, with a piece of paper it said that he was a thug , The very intelligent bus driver honked the horn very loudly after he got off, and the "zordo" got scared and jumped, so I don't understand this kind of thing, why do people play with something they shouldn't do? Because it is something delicate, I will never agree that they pretend to be disabled people or something like that, because at Some point things have to come to light and it is not a Good Idea , because you should not Take Advantage of the Things that Others Suffer.

In this order of ideas, things have to be given by their true Flow and Direction , it is not Advisable to start Inventing Something that is not, or Pretend to be Someone that is not, this is what happens with people who are in a position to the street, they don't Walk , But when they don't get a good Scare, they run away, it's incredible how humanity goes just to earn money without working.

This can also be seen from other points of View , as you say in the Statements that they are Philanthropists because they have many things to help ,Personally I am inclined towards that because it is a very nice feeling, but when there are people who take advantage of this Type of Events is something that I don't like , and I think that's what we all see in this topic, but I say Something, if the person wants to make money by inventing certain Things like this, I wonder: how will they do it? How will you get a good night's sleep? How can you rest knowing that you are cheating? The possibilities of doing some things well are many , so people Choose the bad ones , I don't Understand that, how a person takes the time to think about doing Something bad instead of Helping or Doing a good deed , But for Others, I believe that evil has no limits and this kind of thing should not Happen in the World.

This short story reflects the current reality we live in.

That is a terrible explanation and barely makes any sense, I wonder if there is even a grain of truth in this whole "story". It is true that people at the depths of addiction can sometimes lie and cheat even the people who are closest to them. There is a point where they face two dilemmas which are hard to hide from: 1) They have spent through all their own funds but still hold a belief that they can make any kind of profit or even get back to break even on the money spent so far 2) That they have nothing else to lose and are so deep in despair that their words mean nothing any more, they just want to block out everything because their gambling fix is the only thing in life that matters to them any more.

Even though I am not convinced too about the authenticity of this story,  these things actually do happen.  Gambling Addicts (not just limited to gambling addicts) can do anything just to satisfy their urge. I have seen a similar situation where a particular man goes round begging for money to buy food or foot one bill or the other.  We only found out that majority of the money he begs goes to smoking and gambling. Sometimes it is difficult for people to really tell when an addict is telling the truth and it makes it difficult for people to render financial help to them. The best way to help is by doing a physical inspection to be sure their pleas are genuine.

Gambling addiction is real, it destroys good plans and achievements until the victim screams for help. People really have to be careful not to gamble to the point they can nolonger resist the urge  to gamble.

Yes, gambling addicts do not know their age or educational background, anyone can be addicted to gambling and people who do not have a strong stance and good emotional control are very vulnerable to being trapped in a gambling addiction.

Honestly, I was more suspicious that the money would be misused by her husband, so he chose to give his account number, not his wife's account number. I'm not sure if his sick wife will use the money for gambling because when someone is sick usually they don't have the desire to gamble because their body is weak.

Is the man a gambler?
Maybe the  philanthropist acted on a hunch which could or could not be right.

Using money needed for a terminal illness to gamble and not caring about your wife health condition it is the worse a person can do
Sadly, I have seen people do worse. Like the case of a family who publicly solicited money the treatment of a family member who was terminally ill. When the donation was done, they used the funds and invested in a real-estate property. Why asked why they did that by the Police, they responded that the family member was going to die anyways.

If the man wants to help with his wife's medical expenses he should have given her wife's account, but it seems the man has a hidden agenda and declined to give her wife's account, the man can be considered an irresponsible husband because he declined to giver her account so the man can proceed to donate, the donor is right in not donating the money in the husband account.
The husband's motive is pretty obvious he will use the money on other things and not on his wife's medical expenses, people who are addicted to gambling only care about their addiction and not for the welfare of their family.

Well, things with this case can be seen from two perspectives and one of the things could be because he actually has his wife's bank account compromised for games, casinos, sports betting, it could be that, or also not everything can be negative, It could be possible that things are different, it could be because the husband wants to assume the expenses and not touch his wife's money, sometimes we do not see things from the other point of view, we cannot judge anyone by What we don't know, everyone manages their life, their things, we don't know what the truth is.

What many think is bad, and it is something that should not be done all the time, I know that here in the forum they can always think about the bad and they do not get rid of it, but I believe that in the world there are also people who make sacrifices so that another person feels good and better, in a terminal illness because people become sensitive and can make these gestures.

The person who was offering to help may have had a similar experience with someone else in same situation and regrets doing such upon maybe discovering it was a fluke just to gain the help. Or perhaps the man asking for help for his sick wife may have been living in a gambling prone environment where so many gambling tales has emanated from and it would have been obvious because of his adamant notion to provide his wife's account number, that he simply needed the funds to gamble some more.

Whichever way it is,  gambling has not really slowed down these days, but instead has evolved to online spaces where no other one knows and with betting also, being more of a career path to youths nowadays.

She's just trying to make sure that the funds will be used as intended. Since she was the one who offered help, she can request what she wants, and if the husband truly needs that help, he'll do everything not to disappoint those who offer assistance. Nowadays, finding people with a kind heart is rare, so she should also be treated as a special person, a gift from God.

Perhaps, from her perspective, men's reputations are linked to gambling, and she may not want to take that risk. Alternatively, the married person might not seem trustworthy to her. The person offering help will also assess the individuals they are assisting, so it's their terms to be followed, or no help at all.

In fact, we must first know the purpose of the foreigner in providing assistance, for what purpose and under what agreement.....! Free loans or social assistance, without having to pay again...that's the point.
If the aid money is in the form of a loan/debt, Of course the party helping doesn't need to detail the wife's account, whether they want to use it for gambling or not, that's up to them.
However, if the money is provided for free/social assistance, Of course, the party providing assistance must know in detail whether the money was actually used for his wife's medical needs or for other things, for example gambling.

In the case of gambling addiction, we often see many people doing things that justify any means, the goal is to get money to gamble, whereas in this case, the person giving the help does not know and does not know the husband, Of course, in this case, if you are in doubt, it would be better for the person providing the assistance to come directly to the place where the wife in question is being cared for, provide assistance directly, maybe that is better, rather than presuming.
