Probably all of them are too old and stupid to invest tho.

Notice the ages of all the board members in that video. They are ancient.

It made me realize that we have predominantly OLD individuals (who have old ideas) trying to manage our countries. Talk about fighting an uphill battle when it comes to introducing a revolutionary new technology.

Earlier today I was watching the live stream of the first day of the MIT Bitcoin Expo.  Guess who gave a talk?  It was a bit different in that the subject was mining but the way Andreas tied it into the central design of btc with his usual clarity was something I had never heard before.

I watched this video in it's entirety and hope the Aussies come to a better understanding than the one which caused them to recently tax btc.

I don't think I will get a chance to watch the entire 4 hr set of hearings that Bitware linked above.

We all owe Andreas a debt of gratitude for the wonderful work he is doing.

Thanks. I always search for the latest uploaded videos with Andreas. He's a good speaker and when I do public speech I always have to see someone that's calm and collected because I get nervous as fuck specially when I have to talk in foreign languages.

You are most welcome. Fascinating discussion in those hearings. Well worth watching.

OT: Whenever someone says Mr. Antonopoulos I think of Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street.

Personally, whenever someone mentions Andreas, I immediately visualize an older Eddie Munster for some reason...

Lol. The kid reminds of Vegetta the character from Dragon Ball anime series.

Andreas certainly gets around. He's very dedicated. I can't think of a better spokesman for bitcoin than him to be honest.

Indeed he really nails the points very well (as he did at the Canadian senate inquiry also).

He always does and never seems to bore his audience with what can be a tedious, complex and unexciting subject matter for outsiders. I hope to see more of him in the media in the future.

Just keep in mind, 1$ is 1$. but as its value changes that 1$ isnt worth as much. so while 1 USD is still 1 physical USD. its value has changed. in 2004 1 physical USD had 1$ of value. but compared to 2014 1 physical USD now only has 0.60 USD of value. thats over 10 years. in the history of the US, the Physical USD has lost more and more value. it may have ups and downs but if you know what a downtrend is, Its going down steadily and losing value over time.

But the USD isnt the only currency doing this. there are others...

The difficulty in measuring value of a currency is that you have to have

The thing that is important to understand is that making bitcoin illegal would mean that it would only be used illegally.
Those that may want to use bitcoin for illegal purposes and activities would not be impaired by bitcoin becoming illegal.
Making bitcoin illegal means you perpetuate the bad side of it while you lose the good side of it.
It is better to have bitcoin legal and endorse its potential for innovation and progress. Otherwise you just loose.

Andreas always brings the heat...never fails to give clear, concise answers, that an average person can understand.

I liked the Canadian Senate one better, because he has more back and forth and really goes off the cuff.  Here he's reading off a script in the beginning, which for those not familiar with his appearances and talks, maybe seen as a turnoff.  He does indeed read off a script in the Canadian Senate inquiry, but since he's present and sitting amongst the Canadian senators, it's more natural.  He comes off a little more stiffer over video conferencing.

They seem to respond well to him, i dont know their exact agenda.  That little joke at the end went down well haha.

These guys just got schooled in bitcoin, andreas could be charging to teach that, they should be glad. Probably all of them are too old and stupid to invest tho.

Haha maybe they invest maybe they dont, i dont think that is their main concern.  Their job rests on not doing something stupid regulation wise.
