Haven't got a smartphone at the moment but I'll be trying some of these android wallets soon as I can. Little bit wary of storing too much btc on a phone...

Just small amounts! Large amounts on Paper Wallets / Offline Wallets. I use the mobile wallet just for small purchases.

I have a bad experience with the Bitcoin Wallet the bitcoin symbol one. My First BTC were stolen from it. I temporarily used both coinbase and blockchain.info bitcoin wallet but now I just prefer it from the browser.

I recommend Mycelium. You keep control of your private keys and it can track watch-only addresses (paper wallets) too.

I recommend Airbitz. It is very easy to use and very secure. Unlike Mycelium, your keys are never stored unencrypted.

Yes i used Airbitz too and very secure, and also you can find hotel, restaurant, bars, nightclub, cafe with bitcoin as payment around you.
I used 2 android wallet Grin

i never heard about Mycelium before Undecided

https://mycelium.com/

Cool project, Mycelium Entropy is an USB stick you can connect with your printer to print paper wallets Wink

Thanks buddy. I will try it.
i like the logo Cheesy

how bout blockchain wallet?
Sometimes i get crash n slowly work
maybe my net connection work slowly too hmm   Embarrassed

Also an "online" wallet, because your wallet isn't stored on client side, there is a potential security risk. Always use 2FA at online wallets.

Mycelium is still the best in terms of security, speed and ease of use, plus I also like the name given. Next choice would be "bitcoin wallet" which was used to be great but after the upgrade there were some issues. You just have to try it out to realize the advantage each wallet has over the other.

coinbase also has a mobile wallet, look into that.

Yeah but then we have the same problem as before, because your wallet is stored on a server -> At Bitcoin Wallet, your wallet is stored on the device, not on a external service.

MyCelium seems to be the safest solution on Android; moreover it requires no blockchain download, so it's also a light wallet.
Here is its official thread on this forum: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/mycelium-bitcoin-wallet-293472

Yeah, but I rather recommend Bitcoin Wallet from Andreas Schildbach.

what is the best bitcoin wallet for android?

I used bitcoin wallet and it works fine but don't forget to back-up the wallet or you would lose your wallet and its funds in case of loss or destruction of your phone.

Yes this is the important thing Smiley

Bitcoin Wallet is the best. The keys are saved on the device not on an external server eg. - also the app has it's own sub-board here in the forum -> fast and reliable support Wink
so if you lose your phone it's gone?  Cheesy
Not if you have a copy of your private key. Be careful with installing apps, there could be one or more apps trying to steal your btc.
