What's happening with the memecoins space and their choice of name for projects. I've noticed a recurring trend with them having themes such as #Cats, #Frogs, and #Dogs. The surprising thing is, these projects are thriving and gaining popularity in the crypto communities.
How many have you seen are based on dogs or cats?

But the real question is have you seen $CATDOG?

It’s a bit difficult to catch up to all of new tokens being launched. Just the animal-themed ones are already too many to count. But the thing is aside from the animal they chose to represent them, there’s nothing really unique about them.

At least $CATDOG actually makes some sense because it’s an actual character in a show and not just some random picture of an animal. I don’t know if it will be successful but it’s still funny and quite interesting to see a cartoon in crypto.

$CATDOG right? It makes sense, I agree because it is a character in a show. While I have nothing with these projects coming out too many, I expect some innovation in what the concept represents not some copy and paste project.

The thing that came in mind when I saw $CATDOG trading, I felt the project wants to end the long fight between the two animal or maybe some genetic representation subtly announced without our notice. Meanwhile investors keep going after this projects.

I didn't think it was the character I thought about, but it was! I liked that show a lot  Roll Eyes And it's interesting to see a token for it too.

the new meme maker are creating animal themed meme coin because the narrative sells and who don't like animal anyway, dogs and cats are among the most loved animal and it seems people really favour meme coin themed with these animal so meme coin maker just can't help themselves but creating more and more cat or dog based meme coin just to attract those capital into their meme coin.

however it's just the same thing presented over and over again, so yeah, these kind of meme coin will probably last as long as the narrative still works.
I see your reason to be very understandable and valid. Cats and Dogs are some of the most human loved Pets. And both project communities keep following new projects with similar narrative because it still works! Like the case of this Ginna The Cat, (GINNAN) I see that exchanges like Bitget and others are already announcing interest in listing it.

It's something to think about whether this fusion represents a collaboration between different Cat related project communities and Dog communities or a symbolic portrayal of hybrid genetic experiments.

What's your thoughts, guys?

It was not even a fusion. It was the developer who mixed the two animal names. They did this to avoid using the name for their token like "dog" or "cat." It's kinda mainstream to release a token with the name "dog" or "cat." The developer who did the fusion tries to bring something new with the hope it can get the hype.

A fusion of two animal names doesn't mean a merger of two projects with different names. It's only an experiment made by the creator of such token.

We have many developers who did this just like " Cat in the world of dog" , etc. It's a common thing in meme's environment.

There is no need to think about it. Developers will ride the popular meme coins, no matter what kind of animal themes they get.

I remember during the popularity of Bitcoin forks, there was almost a universe that would be named after their Bitcoin forks. It was crazy but didn't last long.

As you see, it's like a pattern that the developers will keep on doing because many are patronizing the quick cash that they can get from these animal themed memecoins.

What is happening with the memecoins space is what I can say that a wave in their direction and at the moment, memecoins are the sure thing in the cryptocurrencies space and most investors have chosen to trade in that direction bearing the risks in mind, but still we need to be careful with the increasing numbers of New memecoins because as there is a hype around memecoins right now, a lot of scammers and fake projects will be coming up all with the aims to deceived the cryptocurrency community with there endless promises which may likely not come to bear in the future.
And also I will advice that you take those coins as just speculative assets and a form of lesser gamble because you can lose all or some of your investment because there is not solid ecosystem for memecoins and all of them are just based on the hype's.

Drawing from Data, a particular Dog-themed Memecoin recorded a staggering 24 billion in trading volume within just 24 hours, similar to Cat-themed Memecoins. Funny, I found another one today called Ginnan the Cat, also known as Doge's brother announced to go live on various cex soon.
