It's like third aussie coin out there.

I only know about one other, one that tried IPO and had no plans to distribute?? Anyway I don't mind trying to claim a national coin seeing as I'm an Aussie, don't know any Ozzies though  Huh

Ozzie, ozzie, ozzie!

Let your friends in Australia know about the launch and free 500 ozziecoins before the launch offer runs out.

Compared to speculation Grin
Yeah, we hope people don't speculate on ozziecoins.  The intention here is to create a transactional currency.

I just read the stuff that people wrote about you.  Mate, funny you should judge us.  We're trying to do something positive for the Australian community by letting them try the Blockchain themselves and here you are ripping people off in a dodgy online casino.

"This is junk mate" (from one aussie to another  Wink )

Why would you say that? Seems to me the biggest problem is getting digital coins into the community. Bitcoins users at 2 Million globally after 5 years seems pretty weak.

BTW, no offense, but how did you get all those negative trust ratings?

By the way, we are registered for GST. There is no IPO or anything like that.  We are distributing ozziecoins as widely as possible in Australia, to get everyday Australians to tryout Blockchain technology for themselves.

We will be actively managing coin volatility via controlled coin issuances.  There will not be an unstructured dump of ozziecoins. More info on the site: ozziecoin.com

Good news: On launch date we will allow the first 500 claimants to get their 500 ozziecoins for free.  i.e. We will waive the $3.30 charge.

Ozziecoin verifies claims via SMS, which costs money, as well as the engineering costs, server costs etc...

I'd like to gauge what people think constitutes a reasonable registration fee to make sure we are not too way off base.

We thought no one would care about $3.30 as that is the price of a cup of coffee or a middy in a cheap bar, but we could be wrong.

So, let us know what you think.  Our primary objective is to promote the use of Blockchain technology in the wider Australian community via equitable widespread distribution.  We can do this by verifying Australian mobile phones.

I don't think we can ever afford to make it completely free, unfortunately.  However, it is possible you can starve us Devs and make us drink less coffee and beer.

Thanks, guys.

$3.30 doesn't seem unreasonable, Gloria Jeans charge $4.70 for a large flat white AND you have to finish making it yourself as they're too lazy to put a lid on.

Firing up a rig would cost considerably more than $3.30

Can you please explain what the $3.30 verification fee covers?

Yes. Covered here: http://ozziecoin.com/index.php/about (A nominal fee applies per verification check to cover the costs of software engineering, SMS, servers, ID checking and related expenses.)

But to my mind, it buys peace of mind that no one will be able to claim ozziecoins without a valid Australian mobile.

I hope people don't get too hung up about what is nowadays considered to be a cup of coffee or less than a middy (and hardly anyone drinks a middy).  Also, 500 ozziecoins represents 50% of available ozziecoins on a per person basis.  i.e. Max ozziecoins per person is somewhere near 1,000 OZC, 500 OZCs is 50% of that - all for the princely sum of $3.30.

A $3.30 verification fee applies per claim.

SCAM
Before calling this a scam.  Did you buy a cup of coffee today?  What did that cost you?

We have invested a lot of time and money into this.  We believe $3.30 is not an unreasonable cost compared to the cost of setting up a mining rig to mine 500 ozziecoins.

Also, I think people shouldn't expect everything to be completely free.  There is a cost attached to maintaining our infrastructure.

If someone is not prepared to pay a $3.30 nominal fee to ensure fair allocation, we suggest they are more than welcome to set up a mining rig.

So, that implies multiple rounds of claims? Or..?

Obviously we're not assuming the entire population of Australia will claim their allocation, so I'm trying to understand how you intend to ensure they are all allocated & given away in a fair manner?

Great questions.  We will distribute continuously from day one.  There will be no rounds. We require validation with an Australian mobile number to ensure fair allocation. 500 ozziecoins per mobile.

We do hope that the entire population of Australia will eventually claim all their ozziecoins.  If this generation does not, there are future generations to consider.
