I found a 'block' (or a small percentage of one and that transaction amount is: .000042
since a 42 coin is worth about 22.5 btc is the value of what I found calculated like this?
assuming btc is $450 USD)
(22.5 * $450) * .000042

Yes, and the answer is $ 0.42525 (ie nearly 43c) if you found the whole block.
USD~BTC * 42~BTC * n/block
Which is the price in USD of one BTC times the price of one whole 42 coin in BTC times the portion of one block that you received a share of
eg you received 0.00000123 out of the 0.00004200 (yeh yeh redundant zero's) so using the above values
450 * 22.5 * 0.00000123 = 0.01245375 Dollars ie nearly 12 and a half cents in US dollars.
