Scrypt ASICs mean nothing to the 42.  "Mining" by small timers is not so important.  PoS handles that.

Is 42 now a hybrid PoW/PoS coin?

I am a small time holder, but I have not been keeping up with the latest developments. I think I remember someone discussing changing 42 to PoS but I did not keep up with the thread. Is that what the hard fork is for, or is 42 having some other changes made to it?

Estimated time till Hard fork?

Also, trying to figure out what this guy who is buying all the 42 on earth is going to do with it all.

They stated about 2 weeks in their tweet not too long ago https://twitter.com/42coins/status/450543759889928192

How do you know its 'one' guy?  Seems like a wild speculation.

What if he is aiming to be the one of the few stake holders that owns 1.0 of all 42 coins? seems like a fair speculation.

And what do you guys think is happening behind the scenes with the 42 team, BlockChain, and Sean's OutPost?
Speaking of wild speculation, this announcement seems like there is something in the works with the three.

BlockChain tweets out  https://twitter.com/blockchain/status/449608773850505216
42 responds to both BlockChain and SeansOutpost  https://twitter.com/42coins/status/450828474509307904

Duckcoin looks to be a clone of 42 and made a 5 BTC donation to Sean's Outpost as part of a publicity stunt.

I guess I missed the early stages of 42 but I am willing to get started now. I am looking to see what pools you are mining from? and how long you have been in the 42 coin community? 192 pages is quite a bit, not bad. I guess its never too late until all 42 is mined then good luck getting em haha

Anyone think dedicatedpool is good?

"Maco and I have been talking to a company that can make physical 42 silver rounds. They have a minimum order so we may arrange a group buy. I will update you as we get more information."

anymore info on this preorder? very interested.

I was planning on creating a copper/brass or silver round based on 42. If Hendos does not take off, I'll be sure to continue with my plans.

UPDATE!!! HARD FORK!!! UPDATE BEFORE BLOCK 55,000
42 now proudly includes Kimoto Gravity Well
Please update your wallet before block 55,000. Your wallet.dat is fully compatible but it is still a good idea to make a backup.  Wink
Thanks goes out to soopy452000 for all of the work he put in. This wouldn't have been possible without you.  Grin

Edit #2: I posted now on /r/cryptocurrency and can you verify this qualifies me for the 30 dent social posting bounty as you stated in OP?

I messaged as I wanted to promote 42 with some products. A fork certainly seems like a good idea, especially with scrypt ASICs. Must say it's a bit of a let down- that's a lot of effort to go to for a massive pump and dump don't you think?
Scrypt ASICs mean nothing to the 42.  "Mining" by small timers is not so important.  PoS handles that.

It does seem like too much for a pump and dump; if the recent rally were such a thing, I imagine the investment to pump would have been too much to get a return on investment. If that had been the plan from the outset, then the "dump" is hard to realize as the selected name, "42", had value as intellectual property with mind share; it retains value while you want to "dump" things far above their value.  Dumpers then, can have seller's regret when they find that the land they sold had a large oil reserve.  Shocked

The next poster does not like the 42 after a number.  I suggest that the 42 should be called the "fort"(s) to give more application as a currency.

I also would like to find the copy write holder to the works of Douglas Adams to insulate us (the devs) from copy write suits.  Then, the smaller denominations can get names that make more sense in context: 0.00001 fort is a Ningy, 0.00000125 fort is a Galactic PU ("PUG"), and 0.00000001 fort might be a Leaf.

I, too, plan to promote the 42.  Indeed, I really object to harping on the 42 being promoted with "super rare", "worth ... more than", and as the highest priced.  Promote it by its appeal; the only coin that is the secret to everything.  Pique the sci fi and lit fans.  Conjure the ancient past when Brits had humor.  Also, use it to poke into the eye of those who use unwise monetary policies.  (infinitely probable for all governments)

Devs should drop the 42 at the end of the account balance and immature's in the wallet. It makes it confusing to see a number there that does not pertain to the balance.

Messaged Hendo and Maco, but haven't heard back. I thought they were back online after moving?

I'm not in a hurry, so I can go a long time without the devs.  They were silent before.  I would keep listening for tx42.  He had progressed on a new algorithm for the 42.  Also, tx42 had discussed a "community fork" of the 42 when the devs had been absent before.

Worst case: we take over the 42.

My plan: be patient.
