I messaged as I wanted to promote 42 with some products. A fork certainly seems like a good idea, especially with scrypt ASICs. Must say it's a bit of a let down- that's a lot of effort to go to for a massive pump and dump don't you think?
Scrypt ASICs mean nothing to the 42. "Mining" by small timers is not so important. PoS handles that.
It does seem like too much for a pump and dump; if the recent rally were such a thing, I imagine the investment to pump would have been too much to get a return on investment. If that had been the plan from the outset, then the "dump" is hard to realize as the selected name, "42", had value as intellectual property with mind share; it retains value while you want to "dump" things far above their value. Dumpers then, can have seller's regret when they find that the land they sold had a large oil reserve.
The next poster does not like the 42 after a number. I suggest that the 42 should be called the "
fort"(s) to give more application as a currency.
I also would like to find the copy write holder to the works of Douglas Adams to insulate us (the devs) from copy write suits. Then, the smaller denominations can get names that make more sense in context: 0.00001
fort is a
Ningy, 0.00000125
fort is a
Galactic PU ("
PUG"), and 0.00000001
fort might be a
Leaf.
I, too, plan to promote the 42. Indeed, I really object to harping on the 42 being promoted with "super rare", "worth ... more than", and as the highest priced. Promote it by its appeal; the only coin that is the secret to everything. Pique the sci fi and lit fans. Conjure the ancient past when Brits had humor. Also, use it to poke into the eye of those who use unwise monetary policies. (infinitely probable for all governments)
