Does anyone know the price on that 2,500,000 888 sell order? I can't view the entire order book on Bittrex.

it's at 0.00001111 with a total of 28.5973 BTC. But I don't think Octo will reach 0.00001 soon...if ever.

isn't .00001111 btc = .0053 usd?

that's like half a penny which it's already been at and held at for quite some time in it's 6 month lifespan. in fact, it's been above a penny a few times, though only in short stints and with only a small amount of buy support.

Well, if you think about it, there hasn't been enough buy support over the last 6 months even for the devs to slowly sell and make very much profit. If you could prove the devs were only selling over a long period to slowly build profit then kill the coin I'd listen but there just isn't any evidence to support that. Plus you would have to have more than just the devs in on it. Bholzer and Fusion Hash would have to be in on a scheme like that. Neither of those parties have nothing to gain from helping a dev do that. If anything they would only hurt and kill their own reps and projects.

Since we do know that Bholzer has been involved in conference calls with Fusion Hash then I think it's safe to follow his take on it. We really only have info from him besides the devs.

As for the slowness, I think it's to be expected. When you are talking about having a bank for Octo and debit cards  you start to run into things like dealing with banks and insurance companies and jumping through regulations. Those things take a lot of paperwork and time. I think Bholzer and the devs have both pointed to this as hold ups at some point.

I think it would be just pointless to sell early. I mean we have all been here for 6 months. I don't think we all like or agree with lack of updates but we also, all, are not privy to the devs Octo works schedules and tasks. We also do not know what types of issues they have ran into with losing some devs. We also have to keep in mind personal lives and families and real life jobs they may have.

I know it's not fun to worry about the time and money you have invested here. I know Joshycoin and I have had discussions about the amount of time and money we have put in here for 6 months. The only thing I know to do is have faith, be patient and hope it all pays off in the end.

Here's to holding on Octo! I'm sure in the near future we will start to see the fruits of their labor.

if the octocoin price just wasn't so susceptible to messages in here...
however, there's a lot of other things careful research would disclose

EDIT: and the big sell orders purpose is solely a psychological one i believe..

Maybe they put it there to avoid wild pumps, that inevitably result in a larger dumps because of shaken investor confidence?

But this is all purely speculation, and none of it should be mistaken for fact.

1st) if one was smart enough to collect that much octo, why would he place this huge sell order at market with such low volume?
2nd) the price of 1111 sat seems quite random. every reaction inside the universe has a cause within the same "scope of action". Kennedy shot by an irrelevant lunatic.. who believes that? 2.5M octo placed randomly at 1111sat without reason..who believes that?
3rd) The placed amount didn't change over the last week. If anyone would be desperately trying to sell this stuff, he would use every possible chance. But the placed amount didn't change at all, not a few octos...
4th) it's much more likely someone want's to put sell pressure and lead the uncareful eye to believe there's no hope and to manipulate the bittrex stats, which are quite red right now...

just my 2 cents

EDIT:

well there's always the chance, it's just me bragging on bittrex Tongue

but think of it... what would you do, if you were the dev... 0.8% premine... cmon

I sometimes wonder, what kind of services OctoHub is going to provide. It's a nice spinning wheel, but I can't figure out the meaning of all the icons...well...the gambling icon is pretty obvious  Grin

EDIT: The sourcecode says:

In all sincerity though I do hope it's coming, I mean there'd have been no point the devs coming through with an update a week ago if it was dead and buried.  right?

I do think we'll see all their hard work some time this month. When you really think about it, why would the devs keep dragging this on if it was just vaporware? How would they benefit from 6 months of nothing? I'm pretty sure they haven't sold any Octo, and they are still mining Octo since day one according to bholzer. There is no reason for them to keep posting updates if it was dead.

Does anyone know the price on that 2,500,000 888 sell order? I can't view the entire order book on Bittrex.

it's at 0.00001111 with a total of 28.5973 BTC. But I don't think Octo will reach 0.00001 soon...if ever.

Thanks. I still have high hopes for Octo. All it will take is a $15,000 investment to buy up to and blow past 1111 sat. But if that were to happen, lack of liquidity may be a concern, and the price could crash due to the absence buy support.

ALL IN!
When you think about how much time BTC needed to be established this here is only a very little piece of time.
And even if the price won't climb up like a rocket in the beginning, i think we will have a lot of fun with the cool apps beeing released.  Wink

And they will be released definitely.  Cool

It all has its good side.
Beeing an undergraduate and having spent all my money (like an idiot) on octo, expecting a good profit (also shortterm), i realized that i would make a huge loss instead.
So i was forced to find a job in my vacations and i started working for a big company to get the money i needed to pay the bills.
I worked a bit too hard so now after 3 months i climbed up in the positions and got already a team of 4 guys working for me.  Grin
So now i have a brilliant job AND my octos.  Grin Grin Grin

Only thing that will be hard to break is the 2,500,000 sellwall.

Job well done!

The sell wall might evaporate when apps come, it's value is almost certainly higher than 1111 and the whale will recognise that when the apps are in the wild.

We also piled a load into Octo, It's almost all we mined with our ASICS and now we could do with our ROI. The time is approaching for Octocoin to shine and I'm confident we'll all get something from our invested time and money.

And in other news we've had a bit of the bad variety regarding our Chalices. The artist we were talking with works for a company with all the necessary tools to make our glasses (hence the prototypes) but their official quote is above and beyond our original guide from the artist, they want a full commercial rate. As a result we're talking £200 a glass to produce. (We're guessing no-one wants to part with 175,000 888 per glass plus postage and giving us no profit). So what we're going to do is keep the idea on the table and have them available at a fiat price of £250 +p&p (many cryptos also accepted) and have a first come first served reserved list for up to 5 to be made. Hopefully this will be the best option for when Octo matures. We're still working with etched glasses... They may be cheap and cool enough to buy up if you have a few hundred thousand octos lying about.

...my gut tells me these guys are the real deal...

Mine too. And the devs last update was really solid…

… but good messages in this forum has never been their issue.

So now, more than ever, it’s time for them to come through on what they’ve said.

They used words like “a couple weeks” and “urgent” need to release things.

I really hope they live up to what they’ve been saying, both from the beginning, and in their most recent message.
