Not related to the harkfork. We updated server for better security. Now the mining pool is https (SSL) enabled Smiley

It took a little while but I am happy to see the correct chain now with significantly more hash rate than the rogue chain.

Thank you Smooth and thank you to the miners and pools that switched quickly

Most if not all exchange wallets are disabled so that probably affects their service.

when will the exchange be available again?

Looking for a technical opinion or fact for that matter:

When pool mining is it better to specify a static difficulty within a range of your known capabilities, or to let the pool adjust difficulty.

I have been under the impression that , for the sake of share submission, a rate of 1 (yay!) every 15-30 secs is good, to keep low diff share submissions to a minimum (pool flooding) while contending for a good number of shares for your portion of the reward when a block is found by a member of that pool.

However, if you have no need to compete for share quantity, like a private pool, would it be better to allow auto adjustment of difficulty by the pool software in the interest of solving higher difficulties with a higher probability of finding a block?

What effect does the difficulty adjustment time and pool timeouts have on time between submissions (guesses at block answer)?

I suppose, to summarize the question what I'm asking would be: Does setting a static difficulty reduce the possibility or "power" to solve blocks?

Is this how it works? Opinions, facts, or comments welcomed Smiley

I still see transactions occurring on the wrong fork:
https://minergate.com/blockchain/aeon/blocks

I wonder who is making them and why.  Have we heard from all AEON pool operators yet?

I can confirm that 98.238.231.31 ( http://aeonpool.ddns.net ) has been on the correct fork as of 8:30 pm PST 3/5/2017

Thank you Arux and Smooth for your quick fix! Can you verify the current block height (799,150) and approx hashrate  (646,000 H/s)  of the correct chain ?

This what I see:

Code:
2017-Mar-06 09:48:09.453520 [P2P5]+++++ BLOCK SUCCESSFULLY ADDED
id:     <9fbfae49c5353c04d9d99f0413838b28b2f91e6f401d1c3d1b2a3080e2b26260>

HEIGHT 799152, difficulty:      153763797
block reward: 18.181050260587(18.171050260587 + 0.010000000000), coinbase_blob_size: 250, cumulative size: 1987, 19(0/13)ms

That difficulty corresponds to approximately 640682.4875 H/s

Are Chainradar and Minergate on the correct fork?

I don't know, sometimes they take a while to get up to date on these things. I have contact info for minergate and sent them the info but I don't for chainradar.

Thank you. You confirmed what I suspected. I appreciate all the hard work you have done for AEON. You turned something that could have wrecked coins led by a lesser developer into just a minor network hiccup. I look forward to seeing how AEON develops from here.

Speaking of block explorers are there any devs interested in creating one for AEON? I am sure many AEON community members would donate to that cause

Hi, all

Unfortunately I still see a problem with the data store. It looks like there is going to need to be another fix which may or may not invalidate blocks. I don't know yet and I'm on a plane right now so I can't analyze it right away.

Will follow up soon.

EDIT:

preliminary analysis does not show a problem but i will be doing some further tests. for now i believe the new release and data store or are okay. that is not a guarantee, just my best opinion

After some more investigation I don't see any problem. I was misreading the output of one of the daemon commands. Sorry for the false alarm. I'll continue to keep an eye on things but at this moment it looks like everything is working correctly.
when the release of Window?

Windows

WINDOWS DOWNLOAD

Win users can download binaries here (Win64 only):

Code:
---------------------------
Checksum information
---------------------------
Name: aeon-win64-v0.9.8.0.zip
Size: 3965355 bytes (3 MB)

SHA256: 7E08189B2821B356C621DB359CB2265C9E4F52363FDB2988207DA064725E25F7

The binaries were compiled from Github source code and work well for me but they are not official ones, so always checksum and scan for viruses to be sure (like anything else downloaded for Windows).
