They use the new token standard ERC721. I understand that this is a new non-interchangeable token. I haven't seen this yet. So I can't call this idea "not new"

This is a blockchain. All transactions are completely secure. So you shouldn't worry about the safety of your funds. It's much safer and faster than your bank card.
