Just found out about AE. Pls, its way too much to read - can you pls tell me how can I invest in AE? How can I get the tokens? Is there still an ICO going on?

what I really don't understand is if you distribute the AE tokens (erc20 token) to all contributers this month how does it work when mainnet will be launched in 2018? will there be a new AE coin (exchange rate 1:1)? and if yes will both (token and coin) exist in future?
There is nothing to be worried about this part of the explanation. These current tokens will be Ethereum based as you mentioned ERC20 and these will be like this until the launch of main net. Once the set up is ready everyone will be given enough time to convert his tokens to new chain. This is simple and clear. Hope this clears your concern.
I am not worried about that. My question is what will happen to the ERC20 tokens when they are listed on a exchange and conversion time is over. Will they be "decommissioned" somewhen?
The team did mention that their ERC20 token contract will has a burn function included which will be used for burning AE tokens where It's time to move to the mainnet. For any AE ERC20 tokens on exchanges might be subjected to a token swap. This Information will be made clear the team when the time comes.

I was wondering why you guys are still in pre launch period for a very long time and just now i found out about the hack,it is a really terrible situation and 18 million lost in funds means almost all the investments you got from the crowd sale is gone.

I read recently published article and can understand fully your point of view. I will say Aeternity appeared by claiming to provide more better and advanced smart contract and chain but didn't review the multisig's code where you were putting millions of dollars. An average user verifies at least twice before securing his/her assets but it is fault of all these coders who let funds there without making sure of the safety. It is better to do counter-action against hackers to recover all funds instead of offering them 10%. You are team of best coders as you claimed earlier.

The search for stolen funds should be handled by the police? An europol? They have a department against cyber crimes....
Yes when a film was stolen and blackmailed against the studio, the fbi tracked him down as the ip address was leaked. i am sure this could be done. asking people isnt really the rigfht way.

they have so many problems on phase 2, are you guys still belive people who cant calculate amount of contribution by actual rate? scammers got scammed by scammers as another guy said before. it is dead project as I see!
Have patience this is really big project which is game changer so I believe 2018 will belong to this platform the rise of new era of smart contract.

When will AE token be distributed?
We have waited for a long time.
AE tokens will be distributed in the start of 2018 most probably. Check roadmap for more information and visit telegram channel.
they posted on here it was 6 weeks to 6 months after end of ico. if it is now 2018 then this goes against what they have clearly said and written. the coins should be released as it is up to the investors if they want to sell or not. i have found the whole team arrogant and distant, as soon as they got the money it felt like the tone changed.
i was so excited about this now i just think i should have invested elsewhere. (even before the eth thief)

I was looking for new technologies and innovations, aeternity seems to be one of the nice solutions! Unfortunately I missed the whole period of campaigns and ICO, but will I start to buy slowly, is there a channel slack? I'd like to keep informed!

They only lost Phase 2 Eth, Phase 1 Eth and BTC and Phase 2 BTC are still in their possession.
Just wondering still getting 0 AE when I enter my BTC address at the site, offcourse trying with the same btc address I contributed with.
