OP, could you elaborate on "purchasing" part? If that includes having online stores accept the coin, it might very well be our ticket to the moon, along with using the coin in MMOs. Few altcoins have any actual use besides speculation, and that'd make AnimeCoin really stand out.

Quark algo is nice for me but I think the Prime Algo would have been a far better choice if you wanted to secure the coin from GPU/ASIC mining. Then the problem with the Prime algo is one of know how, specifically knowing how to make a pool work with it. This would be the fairest launch, with wallets at launch. Regular people can just solo with the wallet until someone makes a pool for it.

You could change the hashing and keep it closed source if you have the know how, this would deter GPU miners are keep it slightly fairer I guess...
Agree. I also suggest that you don't release a standalone miner, so that the coin doesn't get torn apart by botnets. Look at Primecoin - it does just alright. Other than that, can't wait for release
