With the upcoming positive changes in UTC, thought that it was nice to change clothes for new UTC.
According to me, logo Ultracoin (UTC) is not bad. What 's more i believe that it can be better.
I would like to make it look more modern look.
So, three best logo designers are working on it now Smiley
When got suggestions send them on this forum.
You vote and choose the best according to you.
I think you will be loved.

You are on the same page as me.  The name and logo are so important -especially with all of the competition out there.  We need to be more professional in every sense.  Since you have logo designers working on this, I assume they know the basics.  Just in case:

-The logo should be designed at the size it is expected to be displayed.  No shrinking or expanding.
-It should be distinct, recognizable, but simple.  It should stand apart logos used for similar products.
-Should use 16 bit color.
-Color should be vibrant and attractive.
-Only 1-3 colors used.  Less is more.
-Protoshares and EBTcoin have the most professional logos IMO.  (Although UTC and VTC are decent and better than most others)

I think it is too late in the game to make a change to the name.  But I can't help but wish the term "coin" wasn't used.  Nothing says we are just like everyone else like "coin".  Furthermore, in the future, "UTC" could be confused with the time zone acronym if widely used.  Like I said, probably beyond repair at this point.

Good luck! Can't wait to see proposals.

Who is selling .0006-0007 UTC?...  If you are, please enlighten me as to what reasons you might have for doing so.  What is it about this coin that makes people afraid to hold on to it?  Maybe the answer would help shed some light on the downtrend.

Perhaps many sold this weekend to buy BC.  Why is BC rising and UTC dropping.  Is it a better coin? Better community? Better marketing?  Very curious to see responses from the community.

Very good questions you are asking.
My honest answers:

Is BC a better coin? Not sure, probably no.
Has it better community? Not sure if better but definitely bigger. And bigger is better.
Has it better marketing? Definitely. No buzz about UTC.

I think your answers are pretty solid.  Both your thoughts and mine seem to come back to marketing -since the community size is basically a product of good marketing.  Back in the day when I was heavily involved in sales, I learned a useful lesson:  Salesmanship can only take you so far, the main ingredient to longg term success is a "great product".  A great product allows the seller and the consumer to become passionate about the product, which makes both buying and selling less of gamble and more of a necessity.  The product is good, and our main focus is making it better, from the wallet to the protocol.  I couldn't agree more as far as priorities are concerned.

The next step, marketing/advertising/etc., is going to be a bit more complicated.  It is going to require ingenuity, innovation, and out-of-the-box thinking.  If Ultracoin is to pull ahead in the crypto race, we need to pull ahead in all areas.  So lets put our heads together and think of realistic, obtainable goals for our marketing campaign.  When the "New Ultracoin" is ready, lets put those plans into action.

Let's grow the community.  Increase public awareness.  Share our passion with everyone else.  If we build it, they will come.

This is where all of the non-technical savvy supporters and investors come in.  What are your ideas?  I challenge you all to present them and make a worthwhile contribution to the UTC effort.

Remember, selling a product isn't about giving people reasons to buy it -its showing them why they NEED to buy it.

I'm still waiting for an official tweet or statement. Stocking up in the meantime because when maxcoin announced they were halving block rewards the price rocketed.

ppl will be left out when the reward does goto 15 from 50 and price skyrockets

Did you try these settings??

1. Reboot your system
2. Delete all .BIN files from your miner folder
3. Create .bat file with settings i gave above.
4. Wait till your miner starts, and post the results here
enjoy

Misha you had same problems last nfactor change. As suggested try lookup-gap of 4, or even 5 and let us know. Your error is classic out of ram. I had the same problem as you, but with cgminer transfered from other machine. If you are launching it from command line, delete bins you have in your user folder.

Maybe windows 8 has something to do with it, I'm kinda clueless now..

You can also try lookup-gap 4..
