Full transcript of AMA
wangYesterday at 11:09 PM
Charlie, are you ready for the first question?
charlie137Yesterday at 11:10 PM
yes!
wangYesterday at 11:10 PM
Accordingly to your introduction, Axe is a more decentralized version of Dash, can you explain in more details why it is so? A related question, why there is a need for a more decentralized Dash? You mentioned Bitcoin standard many times, so what is bitcoin standard exactly in brief? Is Axe or will it be a Dash version that fulfill Bitcoin standard?
charlie137Yesterday at 11:11 PM
Bitcoin Standard is a great book by Saifedean Ammous -
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36448501-the-bitcoin-standardThe Bitcoin Standard
I would say its 2nd must read after "Mastering Bitcoin"
We took away developer keys to wash out the line between developers and community, highlighting that every member can contribute at any level. this is also the idea behind AXErunners. The reason we did it - because of the flaws of the centralized approach
wangYesterday at 11:19 PM
second question
Among privacy coin technologies, why do you choose Dash instead of crypto note (Monero) or Zerocoin Protocol? A related question, amongst so many privacy coins already on the market. What may make it possible for Axe to stand out??
charlie137Yesterday at 11:24 PM
this was not my decision, community decided to go with the PoSe during the network upgrade
Monero doesn't have such transparency as Dash, and zerocoin protocol wasn't looking solid at the time
wangYesterday at 11:27 PM
Q3
Given the current status of Axe, what will be the dimensions where Axe will improve further, such as improving privacy or scalability or security?
charlie137Yesterday at 11:29 PM
current goal is to finish the network upgrade and deploy axe v2 to boost network security with new masternodes protocols (chainlocks). masternodes are also a robust scaling approach
wangYesterday at 11:31 PM
Q4
Can smart contracts be added into Axe? Is there a plan to do so?
charlie137Yesterday at 11:34 PM
yes, its already in the code
we would need to add some GUI though but I do not think smart contracts would be a priority anytime soon, before the restructuring test environment
TheforestYesterday at 11:35 PM
Charlie can you explain more elaborately on those questions and  as community has some follow up-questions
wangYesterday at 11:38 PM
Charlie, we have one additional question from the communittee
What is the ming reward reduction plan?
charlie137Yesterday at 11:41 PM
every 210240 blocks emission is reduced by 1/14
wangYesterday at 11:42 PM
now the non technical questions
1
Your Github has been very active, is there a simple way to put all your commits into different categories? Some people observe certain commits are merely minor formatting changes such as spacing, are these commits really necessary?
charlie137Yesterday at 11:44 PM
of course - somebody has to do it, right?)
wangYesterday at 11:45 PM
but that is not majority of the work, right?
you do many other tasks on Github as well, as I can see
charlie137Yesterday at 11:46 PM
depends on the week, ahahaha
our network is young and community still very small, so all developers cover whatever they can reach
axefansYesterday at 11:49 PM
someone said more than 50% axes were pre-mined, is it a rumour?
charlie137Yesterday at 11:50 PM
yea that doesn't make sense at all ahahaha. current supply is not even 5M from 21
somebody's math is off i guess
wangYesterday at 11:50 PM
please wait
premine question is next
2
As we saw on the first page of Bitcoin talks, there is a 3% premine. Could you tell the community where is this premine and how do you plan to use it?
charlie137Yesterday at 11:53 PM
i would first start with the definition of premine - you can put that label on bitcoin as well, its mining history fits the description
since we never had any generated hype/etc - our growth is natural and low diff allowed to mine even bigger bags
this fund's purpose is to pay for bounties and dev expenses
but since significance of it got lost due the low diff, its now harder to put a good description on it
@axefans to break that rumor - current supply and total supply
https://axe-explorer.arcpool.com/guess its worth to mention that we are still looking at superblocks - its a great solution for decentralized development if we could avoid issues like Dash has by keeping a low proposal fee of 0.5 AXE
it is also a little early to touch this topic, since numbers could change - i will post more information when ill be able to finish some local tests regarding superblocks
wangToday at 12:06 AM
great

Throughout 2018 Axe had a quite low market cap and we can assume it is not profitable to sell Axe on the market, so how did you financed your development efforts? How do you plan to finance Axe development in the future to ensure the long term survival of this project? Is there a dev fee?
charlie137Today at 12:10 AM
the idea is to follow btc/open-source attitude and keep lights on with the help of our contributors
axe depends on the internet - so to ensure long-term survival i also have to ensure same for the internet itself - thats too much for my shoulders ahahah
but since network showed stable growth even in such aggressive time - unlikely things would get worse than the winter of 2017 - scam wave has passed and people learned there just can not be any magic free money since block #1
price of bitcoin that drives everybody crazy - is developed from its source code and independent contributions
not some shady presale like anywhere else
if you look around - reason projects are dying is because they depend on btc price
market went south after scammers cash out - and how many projects failed to survive?
but axe doesn't care about some prices
wangToday at 12:16 AM
Charlie, we are running bit of late
charlie137Today at 12:16 AM
1 btc=1btc
1axe=1axe
and nothing else
wangToday at 12:16 AM
sowe need to hurry up a bit
charlie137Today at 12:17 AM
how come, i just started))
wangToday at 12:18 AM
well, it was planned for one hour, haha
charlie137Today at 12:18 AM
kidding)))
wangToday at 12:18 AM
but I think we can continue the discussion after AMA
charlie137Today at 12:18 AM
i mean its not like we HAVE to stop, no?)
lets finish what we have so far
wangToday at 12:18 AM
not really
we can always continue the discussion
charlie137Today at 12:18 AM
wangToday at 12:19 AM
and I will post it later, just the broadcast need to end at one point
the discord discussion can go on for days
I think it will

What is the short term and medium term plan of Axe? Things such as android wallet are also planned? What is the most important thing for a Axe now and what is the most urgent?
charlie137Today at 12:21 AM
Short term would be stabilizing the network after current ongoing update
android is already in the oven, we just need more contributors to finish the code
im ot a fan of win/android, specially android - since you can easily upload malware there - google store doesn't care about code quality, only download numbers. so they are not a priority, specially when you working with finances
ios devs knows what kind of a challenge it is to submit any app in the app store. we had this fight for months lol
but google store - its a question of hours
so far all our development was naturally initiated by community needs, think same will be with the android client
wangToday at 12:25 AM
Charlie, is this the roadmap?
https://github.com/AXErunners/axe/projects?query=is%3AclosedGitHub
AXErunners/axe
charlie137Today at 12:27 AM
some parts of it
different departments have different roadmaps/task lists
i havent got any time to keep these lists updated tho
you can read whats coming in PRs/commits, but its hard to work on the roadmap since we closing whats usually is done in one year - in a quarter)
TheforestToday at 12:29 AM
no problem
wangToday at 12:30 AM
now
some questions real time from audiance
The address "PR8VqUyRm1Dm9tii6uv9D7gidWyA56SvqZ" appears in the code file "MainNetParams. java". Why is it the same address as the first transaction wallet in the founder block? What is the role?
code:strSporkAddress = "PR8VqUyRm1Dm9tii6uv9D7gidWyA56SvqZ";
budgetPaymentsStartBlock = 9999999;
DIP0001Window = MAINNET_MAJORITY_DIP0001_WINDOW;
DIP0001Upgrade = MAINNET_MAJORITY_DIP0001_THRESHOLD;
DIP0001BlockHeight = 782208;
charlie137Today at 12:31 AM
because its the only destroyed addr i remembered at the time i had to put that dummy))
for now its just a placeholder until we would not remove sporks or implement them with same decentralized approach
you can see from the network logs and github that this addr doesn't do anything and all sporks were activated without using it
wangToday at 12:40 AM
next question
Is there a plan to lock up AXE for a period, say one year, to reduce circulation?
charlie137Today at 12:42 AM
no, why?
wangToday at 12:44 AM
one last question
it is 1am LA, I am up from 5
TheforestToday at 12:44 AM
thanks Charlie we have one last question  you and Wang are greatly appreciated
charlie137Today at 12:46 AM
no probs!
wangToday at 12:46 AM
Charlie, how big is the team, and what is the plan for the team expansion?
this is the last question
charlie137Today at 12:49 AM
you can see public members on github
but there is also contributors
5-7 constant contributors, a little less travelers)
numbers really just started to grow, we see more hands reaching out every day
wangToday at 12:53 AM
great Charlie, I think we can call it a day, and you can rest
charlie137Today at 12:53 AM
:metal:
wangToday at 12:53 AM
broadcast can end now
