I can hardly believe this thread has only a few pages... Surely Bancor is a very hyped product/platform! As a student of Anthropology and Developmental Sociology, I am excited about what this might mean for certain underprivileged communities!

Elaborate? I'd love to hear your thoughts on potential use cases.

Will Bancor have a separate wallet for distribution? or will we need to provide an Eth address?   Tongue

Apologies if this has been asked before but can someone please clarify one point for me, is the currency for exchange always Ethereum?

In examples Ethereum is used and it is said that this will be deployed on the Ethereum network. If it is just Ethereum to start with will it expand to other networks later?

It will expand to other networks in the future. ETH will always be the reserve currency of BNT, and therefore BNT will always be liquidatable for ETH.

OK. Cool stuff indeed, however I don't really see any solid, factual things about Omega One just a bunch of promises. You see, I can also start a project  and promise free beer and eternal life (+ three more extra days for early birds), but that doesn't necessary mean that I can or I willing to deliver what I promised Smiley. At Bancor at least we have a plan, a bunch of people who at least theoretically seems to be able to deliver what they said.

Agreed with you both project have no comparison Bancor is still in leading position with working platform a lot of coding have been done. Some people are just here for trolling purpose I believe Bancor has very bright future.

As we all know BAT has had some problems during their ICO process that involved "burning" insane amounts of gas in order to participate. How will it work with Bancor? Is there a calculator that shows how much gas I'll need in order to participate? Or does this depend on the amount of participants?

Well the Bancor ICO will be uncapped for the first hour, so there will be no need to burn insane amounts of gas to get in.

What is the best Wallet to hold the Bancor coins? I'm currently using Exodus, but I don't think I can hold BNC in Exodus?

We'd recommend MEW

Why go to Bitcoin Suisse now? It's uncapped for 1hour, there is no benefit to using them now.

Too much stress and I will be working at that time, if I can get it sorted out before I would gladly pay the fee.

Download parity, send ETH to it and configure it so it sends it at the right time and address. If you don't own a laptop/desktop, disregard this advice.

Interesting. I'll definitely have a look into it, thanks.

I  think they do not accept any new aplications. I'm not 100% sure but i definetely read that somewhere

They don't but I sent it 2 days ago when it was still open.

Are BitcoinSuisse still filling applications? After 2 days of sending the papers I haven't heard anything and I don't know if they will keep servicing requests during the weekend.

Its so different than bancor.
Can you use omega to trade low volume & liquidity community token ?
Omega rely on exchanges.

OMEGA-who? It might be a good solution but I don't think that you can even compare it with Bancor. The beauty of Bencor is that it cuts the middleman and, for the first time, allows direct convertion to/with a/the smart contrat (...... Bancor smart token). It is first-to-market and its revolutionery. Besides, the combination of the Bancor solution and the team will surely prevail.

Think about it, why would I want to pay an exchange if I have a FOC solution?

The Bitcoin Swiss pre-sale is a farce. I submitted all documents on monday and the week is over and they didn't process my application yet, nor they answered to my emails and phone calls. Bad, bad, bad.

Likewise - I had the same problem, but I got lucky because I did manage to talk to someone at Bitcoin Swiss and they assured me that I will get in. He said that they are processing hundreds of applications a day so it is delaying the entire process. I think this ICO is going to be huge.

you do realise "hardcap" is nothing right? its just a way that you put a cap so you can later change that 1 into something else... what is the big deal? why are you people so naive to think someone would invest 260m USD ? are you insane? what project has EVER raised that much, some projects which were hyped as hell didnt raise more than 20 and had plenty of time. matchpool raised 7 million in about an hour, argon raised what 20-25 mil? in 15 minutes, do you guys think there is an endless stream of money just going in? people arent going to be like "well if its still open ill 1000X my initial investment"
[/quote]

The raising amount is correlated with the publicity made by the ICO. The people who believe in this project will invest in the dream. Also, one aspect that is very important is what the company want to accomplish.

What I like about this startup, the average Joe will be able to create his own smart token to finance his dream.

The value of the BNT after ICO will depend on three main unknowns:

- How much BNT will be required as reserve for smart tokens created through the Bancor platform before the monthly fee is waived
- How high the monthly fee will be for smart tokens created using the Bancor platform
- How the CRR of the BNT will be changed after the ICO

And of course general adoption but that is anybody's guess right now anyway.
