After all this time this thread is still quite remarkably mediocre. There is literally nothing other than name calling. How can some of the world's biggest alts inspire nothing beyond worthless dribbles?

Well, it likely has a lot to do with the fact that about half of this thread's participants are ignorant pikers who come here merely to fling clueless shit around the room.

The definition of altcoin?

Do you realize these terms are socially constructed over time by people and not by any technology or science. You could call Bitcoin anything you want and the blockchain will not change.

There is no ‘definition’ is to what an ‘altcoin’ is and what ‘bitcoin’ is.

The definition of altcoin is every cryptocurrency that is not bitcoin. Ergo, BSV is an altcoin. This isn't debatable, even on video  Cheesy

You have a lot to learn kiddo, stick with those kiddy diddlers over at EOS, this is the grownups forum .

Oh man, the guy who backs Calvin Ayre's coin should not be calling anybody "kiddy diddlers".

Oops.

That is a definition that people came up with socially, not scientifically. Like psychology vs biology, one is a sudo-science, one is a fact.

altcoins will disappear, there will be only BTC and BCH as a large block addition

This is the post of the day really funny when someone admit publicly altcoins have no future. You should learn the definition of altcoins and this thread where stands?

I guess guess BCH is more likely becoming a survivor fork of BTC and that is good since competition will surely spur innovation. I also think that the other one governed by faketoshi and his armies would have a hard time surpassing it. Crypto community don't like to be deceived. Smiley

Less hops. More wins.
Sooner or later, the crypto community would soon realize both pros and cons of Bitcoin and its derivatives, that in the event that happens, they should take sides. I guess "the ball is now in the hands of the developers" of this projects and their capability to further improve and innovate more to ensure long term survivability. Imho.

The miners are the ones who run the network.  this is why the devs are trying to remove them and also why miners should be hiring devs like SV  seems to be doing IMO.

Yeah, projects with POW mining algorithms have an inherent risk of being compromised and that is a bit risky. If they could only upgrade the network to change its mining algorithm to other more secure algorithms that uses less energy, then I think it might be good for all of the community.

Nice try to twist my words lol.  that is not at all the point lol.  the algo is not used in bitcoin like how encrypted files in storage uses an encryption algo lol.  and the community has nothing to do with mining LOL.  And your comment about POS or hybrid algo & electricity shows you do not understand reality based security at all.  good luck.

Devs trying to remove mining. Riiiight.

Yes, that’s exactly what the devs are doing with the lightning network. The devs are removing the miners incentive to mine through the implementation of the lightning network. What do you think the blocksize debate is about?

The whole economic model of Bitcoin is literally destroyed for the socialist oligarchy of lightning nodes to collect their ‘hidden fees’ off chain. It’s central banking all over kiddo.

Lightning is an extremely tiny portion of the total transaction volume. This is a funny narrative that you've constructed to shill your fork of an altcoin, and nobody believes you. Mining won't come to a stop due to lightning because for as long as you and I are alive there will always be a block reward. The last bitcoin won't be mined until 2140, so its not really a problem to be concerned about for the next 120 years.

So you don’t want lightning transactions to increase in volume?

What does it matter to you if they do or not? You're assuming that lightning will cut down miner fees, which are only a small portion of the block reward. Lightning isn't meant to take away from what is currently in place, its meant to accommodate future growth. In addition, as I mentioned and you glossed over, block rewards won't disappear for over 120 years.

So your whole narrative is bogus.

I don't know if you get paid to do this or you do it for fun, but I sure hope its the latter. If not, your employer isn't getting their money's worth and should up the quality of their troll standards.
