Yes we launched a better upgrade for that increased the confirmation rate and upgraded the splash Why? Why 5 billion? Why not chose a random number between 1 - 5 trillion?
There are many coins like nem , verge and cardano which are over 20 billion this is close to 5 billion in total supply
