Nice! That is epic guys. Way to go. I am tempted to get a roll just for fun, are there any left?

The South Carolina Numismatic Association 50th Anniversary show that took place this last weekend:

http://www.sc-na.org/2022convention.html

BitcoinPenny and I shared a nice corner booth:

Which conference was this at?

Good morning, everyone. Smiley

Sorry for the late update. We've been going crazy preparing for / attending a big coin conference over the last two days and thru this Sunday.

Side note: What an interesting experience are these simple numismatic coin conferences! Only a handful of people know anything about bitcoin, and a few of them are vehemently opposed to it. In fact, our very first passerby on the very first day stopped to explain to us how bitcoin is a scam. Here's a brief snippet of that long conversation.

ME: Good morning!

CLUELESS IDIOT: Are you affiliated with the real bitcoin company?

ME: Umm...there is no bitcoin company.

CLUELESS IDIOT: Yes, there is.

ME: Really?

CLUELESS IDIOT: Someone's at the top.

ME: Actually, no one is at the top. That's the beauty of bitcoin.

CLUELESS IDIOT: Someone is at the top. That's the person with the server. And they can turn off the server and take your bitcoin anytime they want.

ME: [Opening my mouth to begin explaining the distributed ledger concept]

CLUELESS IDIOT: I don't know if you're aware, but bitcoin...blah blah blah...some fictional man that nobody can find anymore...blah blah blah...he ran off with the bitcoin server...blah blah blah...he has all the bitcoins...blah blah blah...the government...blah blah blah...illegal immigrant Mexicans..blah blah blah...

ME: Maybe bitcoin was invented by the Democrats.

CLUELESS IDIOT: I think that I detect a little sarcasm in that statement.

ME:

CLUELESS IDIOT: Hey, I'm ready to be proven wrong. Is there ANYTHING in what I said that you disagree with?

ME: Yes.

CLUELESS IDIOT: What part?

ME: All of it.

All in all, the experience is very interesting. These people desperately need schooling on bitcoin, and we're happy to take a few verbal punches in defense of the mighty cryptocurrency. Smiley

In the meantime, we'll keep you updated on the days' events throughout the weekend.

Thanks for supporting bitcoin, everyone! Wink

Regards,
Chris @ TBPCo.

PS—Great question, Cryptogreatdane! We recently wrote a new visual guide to explain that, and we'll be posting the info on Monday after the conference.

. . . from our new BP® Collector's Guide . . .

Is this a printed guide yet to be released, or are you referring to a specific thread here in collectibles?

Geo

It's a free downloadable PDF guide. Available on the website in a few days. Just needs reviewing one last time for accuracy. Plus a short "About Our Coins" page in the beginning.

Here's another quick screenshot...

Honestly, I hadn't realized how many variations there are for people to collect. Including the annual double-head and double-tail proof sets (4 coins each), we've released an impressive 57 different variations over the last 8 years! Some of the variations are so rare that even we don't own an example!

Regards,
Chris

Wow. Looks great.
Can't wait to check off what I've got and start the hunt for the missing ones. Probably many that are unobtainable, but still fun to hunt.

Whats an accidental book turn orientation coin?

That's a very popular question with our little collectible coins. In the USA, the backs of our coins are minted upside-down in relation to the fronts. This orientation is often referred to as "coin-turn."

The second kind of orientation is sometimes called "book-turn," because this orientation resembles the pages of a book where both the front and the back of the page are printed in the same orientation. Another term for "book-turn" is "medal orientation," because many achievement medals are minted in this same "easy-to-read from either side when hanging" orientation.

Here's a visual snippet from our new BP® Collector's Guide showing the difference between the coin-turn and book-turn orientations...

Which conference was this at?

This was at the South Carolina Numismatic Association's 50th Annual Coin Show in Greenville, SC — our first attempt to represent bitcoin at a "real" [fiat] coin conference. You should've been there to see minerjones inform the naysayers that the USA fiat is not backed by anything either. (A lot of people think we're still on the gold standard.) Good times. Smiley

A big problem i see coming is there is a organized movement on the US conservative side to bash digital currency.  However, there beef is with the soon coming central bank digital dollar. But i hear them frame it as digital currency. We need to get the word out that a centralized digital dollar from the government is different then bitcoin. A matter of fact they are completely different. Btc is the anti-digital dollar.

Haha, what a story, Chris. Thanks for sharing.

I have had similar, even though maybe not that extreme cases of crypto talks before.
To me, one of the really interesting questions always is: how can you get through this wall of prejeduces - if that’s at all possible?

Could you succeed with this person?

In any case, would like to get one of these rare random rolls if still available. Will send pm.
